Idk kind of feel like the NBA will try to fight WBD in court to let NBA take Amazon's deal. I think the NBA is tired of dealing with Zaslav.
I didn't fully read everything, but sounds like part of WBD's previous contract gave them a right to match, and they're just exercising that, no? What's there to fight? And does the NBA care if they the same money, and realistically more eyes on their product?(I don't know if the more eyes part is true)Idk kind of feel like the NBA will try to fight WBD in court to let NBA take Amazon's deal. They announced all of those deals with the caveat that WBD could match either or both of the deals from Amazon and/ or NBC. So I sincerely doubt that they're going to sue them or have any grounds to, at all. It was in the NBA's press release that this could still happen.Idk kind of feel like the NBA will try to fight WBD in court to let NBA take Amazon's deal. I read somewhere that the NBA can still decide to go with Amazon despite WBD having the right to match doesn't necessarily mean the NBA has to choose WBD over Amazon. Don't know how that really works but guess we'll see hahaI didn't fully read everything, but sounds like part of WBD's previous contract gave them a right to match, and they're just exercising that, no? Okay this makes me feel really ooooollllddd!
Nope. Deal him for the best pick package we can get.Yay! Now we don't need to worry about trading Grant this year. We will still get a 14% chance........
Lack of urgency. If you've watched the games the effort from this squad really ebbs and ebbs and ebbs until it has to flow and then it does. One would think that would change when the games count but I guess we'll see.I don't understand how our olympic team, full of all-stars barely beat some of these other teams, which only have a few average nba players.
There was once a time USA would smash any opponent playing all star game intensityLack of urgency. Yeah, that was a time when basketball wasn't close to as popular as it is now all over the world. We put these Team USA rosters together like all star rosters, while almost every country that we'll face in the Olympics has their national teams playing together and competing for spots on the roster from the time they're kids. There was once a time USA would smash any opponent playing all star game intensity
You think that if Team USA "decided to go hard" they'd be beating these other teams by 50 like the Dream Team used to? Yeah, and if the US had really wanted to, they would have won in Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc. Those guys were making a few million a year, not tens of millions. It's the same reason why so many players sit out college bowl games now: too much money in [the] sport. Staying healthy for the payday is the top priority, so picking and choosing when to go hard is the new norm.
Whenever this team has "decided to go hard" it has gone on 15-2 or 11-0 runs in games that they allowed to be close. This team isn't blowing a fully healthy Serbian team out by 50 by any means but they'll win comfortably by double digits when they play in a game that matters on Sunday morning. They'll do the same to Canada and France. These guys are half assing it right now and then turning it on for bursts of serious ball to avoid any losses. Canada and France are full of NBA players as well. I have no doubt that either of those teams is capable of beating the US on any given day.Whenever this team has "decided to go hard" it has gone on 15-2 or 11-0 runs in games that they allowed to be close. ? They were the best US players in the NBA at the time (plus Christian Laettner). How is that different from this year's edition, other than the gauzy glow of nostalgia? Oh yeah, the world caught up, that's how.The Dream Team was a generational collection of talent, so any other dominant showing would be a fractional representation of what they were able to do at their best.
You know what would be the most talented imaginable non-US team (at least on offense)? A "former Yugoslavia" team. It would be pretty big-man-heavy, though. You could have a starting five of Doncic, Jokic, Zubac, Nurk, Saric. Just pack the paint and hope the other team bricks it!Canada and France are full of NBA players as well. You'd also have a couple Bogdanovic's, a couple more Nikola's (Jovic and Topic), Pokusevski, the lesser Dragic, and Boban could be a mascot. It would definitely be fun to watch. You know what would be the most talented imaginable non-US team (at least on offense)? A "former Yugoslavia" team. It would be pretty big-man-heavy, though. Give up on Poku - Serbia haveYou'd also have a couple Bogdanovic's, a couple more Nikola's (Jovic and Topic), Pokusevski, the lesser Dragic, and Boban could be a mascot. It would definitely be fun to watch.
Schroeder? Or maybe Dort would make more sense.Who'd be the fifth starter on an All-Europe team:
Wemby
Jokic
Giannis
Doncic
?
Definitely Schröder. He plays out of his mind for Germany. Dort may speak French but he's from the wrong continent.Schroeder? Or maybe Dort would make more sense.
Huh--dunno why I thought he was German.Definitely Schröder. He plays out of his mind for Germany. Dort may speak French but he's from the wrong continent.
