Golden State has the same problems as us. Although they have a far more talented roster, they are also trying to win while straddling the line between youth development/contribution and a veteran core. Both teams are finding it to be a difficult task.

Also similar, Jordan Poole seems to thrive more when Steph is not playing. This is like Ant excelling when he’s not playing with Dame.

for years in this forum, people talked about how CJ excelled when he wasn't playing with Dame

well, CJ isn't playing with Dame this season and his FG%, 3ptFG%, 2ptFG%, eFG%, and TS% are all below his career averages, as is his PER, winshare/48, OBPM, and BPM

it's my view that if a player can't be his best playing with somebody better, his best is a mirage

Why not go one step further and build the toilets into the seats?

Why not go all the way and install toilets into the stadium seats? Something like this gaming toilet concept from Japan. It even has a tiny sink built into the backrest.

Hmmm. A sink in the toilet. What a novel concept.

that's one thing that's funny about people (like Dwight Jaynes) who claim that Damian doesn't make his teammates better (compared to, for example, Clyde).

Dame made bums like Harkless and Aminu actual starters in the league. Look at their careers after they left Damian...

Dwight has been sparing with people on Twitter for about the last two weeks on this issue. My thoughts are he thinks this is making him relevant again? Likes the attention he is getting? He keeps bringing it up again and again.

"Free Throw Guy" is about to make a comeback with a brand new routine......

Foster gets to do whatever he wants with no accountability.

Probably had money on Denver.

He called a Toronto challenge unsuccessful giving Denver free throws, called a Denver challenge successful giving Denver more free throws, called a weak foul on the Raptors giving the Nuggets free throws, then ejected Barnes all in the last minute of the game.
So the 2 minute report makes it look like Foster did no wrong.

He'd be our 2nd best player right now....

If Clyde would have had Dame's work ethic, he would have fixed that busted jump shot, and won us a trophy. Clyde relied a lot on natural gifts. Clyde was great, but should have been greater. Plus he had WAYYYYY better supporting players. It's not even close. When Dwight talks about Dame's accomplishments or abilities, there's always a but after it. I think Jaynes lives too much in the past. I'm guilty of that too, sometimes . But i also know special when i see it. And Dame is Very Special.

I don't see any significant difference. I could have done CJ with Grant too, but why bother

what I see are 3 guys at the level of 3rd options on offense. None are close to being worthy 2nd options on a good team

You could flip the argument in terms of defense, though. Shooting mechanics and defense are equally indicative of putting in the effort. It's difficult to check all the boxes.

No doubt, Clyde's teammates were way better than what Dame has had around him, but Clyde's teams also came way closer to the top of the mountain. Aside from Dame's one outlier of a trip to the WCF (through a near-ideal first two rounds of match-ups), which ended in a humiliating sweep which was a better indication of how good the team actually was, his teams have basically been first round flame-outs every year. That concept didn't exist with Clyde's teams.

that's not true at all. In 5 of Clyde's first 6 seasons in Portland the Blazers were "first round flame-outs". In the one year they made it to the 2nd round they won 1 game. Then the Blazers traded for Buck Williams and drafted Cliff Robinson and had their 3 year run of playoff success. After that, two more first round flame-outs before Clyde was traded

in other words, Clyde was in Portland for 11 full seasons. He had 7 first round flame-outs and over 8 of those seasons the Blazers won a grand total of 1 game past the 1st round. Clyde led Blazer teams had a 9-20 record in the playoffs before Buck & Cliff arrived. And outside of that 3 year run in the playoffs, Clyde led Blazer teams had an 11-26 record

Buck Williams was actually the magic ingredient for Portland, not Clyde

People tend to forget that the franchise has had very few visits outside of the 1st round of the playoffs.

Lakers retired Pau Gasol's jersey. WTF. Doesn't seem to me like he's worthy of that.

I knew I should have specified during the team's peak run. (Edit, because in my mind it was obvious that was the period being referred to. Pre-Buck, that team arguably wasn't much more talented than Dame's best teams.) But, I also forgot about the post-Finals drop-off, to be fair.

Kobe thought so and that probably is what made it happen even though (sadly) that was a few years ago.

He was the second best player on a team that won two rings.

If he had done that for Portland we would have renamed a city after him.

He sat aside for our training camp team once. We should rename the city after him anyway. Pauland.

Meyers Leonard got kick out of Miami without a real gun while Ja Morrant suspended for 3-5 games? Thanks NBA
