Wait? Riley is the GOAT?
At what? Coaching? GM? What did I miss here?

read again...he didn't say Riley was the GOAT; he said Riley was a GOAT. His finger accidentally hit the caps lock after the 'a'

That's why I responded with "At What"?
A goat at what? Greatest of all time suggests he is the best at something. We all know he isn't the greatest coach. We all know he isn't the greatest GM.

He's among the most accomplished at both, so he's unquestionably in GOAT territory when looked at as an entire body of work.

The GOAT term has evolved to not be exclusively singular. Think of it as "on the Mount Rushmore of..." As an NBA coach, he is unquestionably one of the greatest of all time.
  • Second all-time in finals appearances
  • Second all-time in playoff wins
  • Fifth all-time in wins
    • Best win% among top-5 in wins
    • Only coach in the top-5 with fewer than 25 seasons coached
He may not be THE GOAT, but he is a GOAT.

I can't believe my post caused such an uproar. Most affish would say PR is one of the goat coaches. sheesh tough crowd
Okay I'm good with that. "One of the great coaches" is what I feel as well.

I thought Luke Walton was the greatest coach of all time? Oh it was his lineup, not his coaching abilities, that’s right.

What CAN they do? Probably use their MLE but it's not like they have a ton of assets to trade. They do have the 28th pick.

Maybe see if NYC is interested in a Randle for MPJ + end of the bench player swap.

Denver gets bigger and stronger to go against the Wolves, they also get a guy that maybe is more reliable to produce points consistently than MPJ.

NYC Adds shooting and they still have assets to move around for someone else.

So Bickerstaff is out at CLE. Maybe Mitchell stays there now and Garland needs a new home?

Cav fired J.B. Bickerstaff -- I wonder if they would want Billups -- just sayin - LOL

If I was the Blazers I would take a future 2nd round pick for the rights to Billups and a Subway Gift card to entice them a little more and call it a great trade

like i've said... when your team gets beat by the Billups scrappy pack Blazers, expect some weird fallout afterwards.

Cavs got torched by Sharpe & Reath...
buh bye coach Bickerstaff

Billups is underrated.

that is your best comeback you have is that -- it's not about the win or losses as much as have we really seen any growth in the players under Billups ?

I mean we have seen some but not as much as I think we should have seen and the systems Billups is using is not helping THIS team they way they are / were built.

I honestly think the one knock on Chauncey is that he has what I think is a system that could be great but for whatever reason Jerami and Ant aren't being held accountable for playing outside of that system on O and Ant isn't held accountable for being flat out terrible in this system on D.

If we just had young athletic guys who were all getting a consistent message then I love the idea of pushing the tempo on both ends. Finding bad matchups in the secondary break and exploiting them on O and then a ton of ball and player movement in sets. Switching everything and pressing on D. Just overall running opposing teams out of the gym. That stuff that Chauncey preaches is gold to me. He just isn't consistent with it and then when it's time for things to slow down there seems to have been some glaring holes in his coaching ability but that might just be the very very shitty rosters he's had.

I won't be surprised if Chauncey never gets a chance here to prove what he could do with a decent roster, I wouldn't be surprised if when he got a decent roster he had a hard time winning with them and I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if Chauncey was actually good at this shit if given a fair chance. In other words because of the way Joe and maybe Vulcan has managed this roster, three years in and Chauncey is still an unknown when it comes to whether he can be an effective/winning basketball coach. I don't foresee us getting the answer to that unknown this upcoming season either.

Wow? They really gonna put Scoot, a rookie that started this season 19 years old with this group? Not sure he deserves this disrespect?

yeah, that's undeserved considering the average years experience for the other 4 players is 8 seasons

but again, I think dismissal and ridicule pointed at Scoot is largely a function of how much pre-draft hype he had. He wouldn't be on that 'team' if he'd been the 16th pick

Totally agree. The hype and expectations for Scoot were way over the top. I really hope he is working hard this summer. I kind of hope he sees things like this and will set out to silence the haters.
