Just realized the Blazers can’t fire Chauncey until after they trade the vets because to admit we’re doing a big coaching change would tank the value of our vets
Which is fine. I'm not interested in punishing Chauncey.

I want a plan in place to build the environment for a great development and coaching tree. Which probably can't happen with current ownership...but maybe...

An efficient 50 spot at that. All Star shoe in barring unforeseen circumstances.

How about that Hornets starting backcourt tonight? 82 points and 12 made 3s. They must be thrilled they passed on Scoot.

Yep and the nuggets have zero championship acumen outside of him.

they may be a huge candidate to try and take some of our vets, particularly JG

He can’t play 38 minutes a night forever; Ayton would be a good backup for him.
You put Ayton and Grant on that team and they will definitely be in the mix.

A decade away? I guess I'm just old. I might be taking a dirt nap by then?
I am afforded that luxury yeah (though let’s be real, I’m 47 and nothing is guaranteed for me either)… but having a steady stream of good picks could make us a dynasty which I’m able to wait for.

I'm 72. That's why I never considered what the Blazers got for Dame anywhere close to a "haul". A couple of picks and swaps 6 years away, and like KJ said, I might be dirt napping by then. That coupled with the fact I hated Ayton's game even before he arrived in Portland

still....getting those picks and adding to them are probably the best option for the Blazers. That's what a decade of bad management will do to a team

You got to see a championship in your lifetime. I'm not thinking some of us will ever get to experience that joy.

Def gonna need addl teams even just for one of those guys to get some dead contracts in the mix.. however by lacking any young talent to come back, we would have to do well on the pick end in said example

Some of us were lucky enough to witness 2 trips to the finals. I think it probably set us up to be unrealistic about things.
The first season I watched was 89-90, so yeah I might have had some overly high expectations for a while because of it. I got over that by 2005 but I was such a shit about the team as a teenager.

Yeah I know. This place was going crazy about this kid, hating simply based on his dad. Whole thread about it, too lazy to go dig up.
I remember it; nobody thought kids with a dad like his could be any good. Only took several years to be proven wrong. Is the other one any good?

My man!!!!!
