This cracks me up so much more than it should.I think I just saw Melo at the airport, holding a basketball.

Wonder how many people will quit over this?
Lol. I was just fucking around. That being said, Zach looks pretty lost on offense. For all this lauding of his footwork (on offense), he just looks plodding and ground bound. I'm hoping for the best. He sure isn't shy about shooting...but any 14 a game stuff is few years off.
Hell, Nurk averaged 14 per last season; it ain't easy.
You can't fuck around on here any longer. You used to be able to, but now you just get attacked immediately and get called a victim if you say anything back
Yeah, I don’t think Zach looks like Meyers who just doesn’t look like he knows what’s going on...No he doesn't. This is just wrong. Missing wide open jumpers does not equal "lost".
C'mon bro.

I think it's very possible that Collins won't manage that, but still be a good pick. I see him ending up as our Nick Collison.
Edit: just want to say sorry I keep replying to all your posts, I’m not stalking you lol. You’re just actually talking about basketball.Like, why do people say this??
He literally plays nothing like Collison... At all...

I can see the comparison in terms of attitude, both Collins and Collison were / are tough, not going to back down type of guys.
Collins ceiling is higher than Collisons ever was. In fact after the “enforcer” part collison didn’t have a lot of nba level skills, but he played his role well, knew who he was and played inside of that.
No he doesn't. This is just wrong. Missing wide open jumpers does not equal "lost".

Can't anything in here go without saying? Obviously I'm not talking about open jumpers.
Just clear your mind and picture him on the post. Underwhelming and predictable. Occasionally he pulls out some terrific drive spin lefty move, but mostly it's him floundering like it's Summer League. Listen, I want him to improve, but in college he BARELY got his looks off in the post. His margin of error half the time was like a millimeter. I just think the NBA is WAY faster and guys are WAY WAY more athletic.
That being said, I think you're right about bulk. A bigger Zach means knocking guys off balance and getting shit done. I'm hoping for this.
A couple of qualities I think will help him the most is his motor and his determination. He certainly seems like a motivated dude. These are attributes that are a choice, but a surprising number of players elect to coast. And he's coachable.
(I think my Zach snark arises from Olshey throwing him into the fire at Ed Davis's expense. I wanted Ed Davis here forever.)
I wish it was like Thanos' snap...but we'd probably be left with the worst 50%.Wonder how many people will quit over this?
I understand this and appreciate it. I wanted Ed to stay too. I think it's a HUGE mistake to let him go.... but don't let that influence your opinion of Zach. Zach is going to be a good player (solid starter level), at minimum.(I think my Zach snark arises from Olshey throwing him into the fire at Ed Davis's expense. I wanted Ed Davis here forever.)
So he only shot better because he didn't shoot outside of open layups, and because his game transferred better at the beginning.... that doesn't prove a point. As 20 year old rookies Lopez shot better from 2 pts % and at the FT line. Lopez is not a 3 or shooter.
You hope the 10th pick in a loaded draft will be a shit ton better offensive player than Robin freakin' Lopez, but why would some be expected to think that now?
You said he'd never average 14... no mention of efficiency.Yeah, of course. At least more versatile. (I was just teasing about using the per 36 in this case.) ALTHOUGH, I can't see him making a huge leap this season in efficiency. An efficient 14 was the original discussion and while I joke, it does seem crazy presumptuous to think that a guy that often looks lost on offense and shot 40% from the field and 31% from 3 is going to be efficient any time soon.

When its pro Blazers its pro BlazersI'll give you this. It is not easy for a big man, especially off the bench to average 14 points, especially on a team where most of the offense comes through the guards.
Collins is going to be good. Better than Lopez.
I fuck around on here all the time. When its funny its funny when its not its not.
Wasn't trying to prove anything. So he only shot better ecause he didn't shoot outside of open layups, and because his game transferred better at the beginning.... that doesn't prove a point.
Your silly opinion isn't reality.
If Robin Lopez can average 14pts per 36 for a career, I think Zach could average 14ppg for a season.
Dude has offensive potential. He's still 20 years old. Ruling him out from being able to score 14ppg is ridiculous.
Is that the correct spelling? Or are you being sarcastic? Normally I spell it wrong I think.I would like to compliment you on spelling ridiculous correctly.

Did you regularly watch Gonzaga? Because as someone who did, I didn't see what you're talking about. A lot of time he barely had any room to work with compared to what he'll have in the NBA.Can't anything in here go without saying? Obviously I'm not talking about open jumpers.

You sure that already didn't happen 2 years ago?I wish it was like Thanos' snap...but we'd probably be left with the worst 50%.

The fact that you didn't reference his up and under means you definitely missed a few.No, I didn't. I utilized the Google machine and considering he only made 135 shots total in college, I figure I saw most of them. So you're saying he's got sweet post moves that the highlight reel does not reveal? Like secret moves? I like his baby hooks and that drop step, but watch for yourself: millimeters. Guys just stand there with their hands up. Regardless, strength might change this and make up for his lack of explosiveness. But if Summer League revealed anything, it's that it'll be a while. I hope not though, and he'll get his chances, so we'll see.
