They just lost 4-2 exactly like the Pacers did. Pacers lost to Miami, OKC lost to SA
. How is OKC any more a contender than indy?

Better Conference, Better competition. They had to fight more to get there. Pacers sleptwalk through 2 series. It's really simple. But, it's my opinion, and you have yours.

How many chances were given to the Thunder this playoffs to win games? Two 4 point plays just to get out of the 1st round and now a blown goal-tending call to send the game into overtime (sounds familiar). Go away Thunder, stop having the media and league win games for you. Maybe now people will see what a joke Brooks is as a coach (when was the last time you saw him stand up during a game), maybe people will finally notice that when KD misses a shot, it is not because he was fouled ( but because he actually misses shots sometimes).

I'm glad to see a team who is all class make it to the finals.

jesus christ, seriously? A bang bang missed call is CLEAR evidence? GTFOH

It wasn't a bang bang call. Everybody in the arena saw it was goaltending.

Durant falling literally on his ass down 1 point was the funniest fucking thing I've seen in the playoffs in a long time, too.

That was pretty funny. I think he tripped on a big sweat spot but it makes no difference. Killer Durant the MVP the supposed stone cold killer coughed it up when he had a chance to send his team to the finals

Possible goal tends are only reviewable if the whistle was blown. So, do what they do with 'possible' flagrants: err on the side of making the initial call then review it. If it's close to a goal tend, call it and review it. That ball hit the backboard before it was "blocked". Sound familiar? If OKC had won thanks to that play, I was waiting for another "tough shit". Thankfully, the league got baled out by Durant and Westbrook chokes.

Go Spurs.

cool story. The refs and the league had plenty of opportunities to help you along with your theory that they OBVIOUSLY wanted it to go 7, and it didn't happen. GO figure. Stupid conspiracies.

As a referee, it is VERY easy to see goaltending. If you didn't see it, you aren't doing your job. You are doing a disservice to the game and to the team who should have benefited from the call. You took 2 genuine points away from them. It's a disservice plain and simple.

They lost in almost identical ways in the conference finals. If Miami wins again this year it could be argued Indiana was more of a contender than OKC

I agree with this post. Well said. Begs the questions is it time for the NBA to adopt coaches challenges to force replay reviews especially in the 4th qtr. Might want to visit fining and or suspending refs for poor officiating while they're at it as well.

Again, we'll agree to disagree. We're running circles.

He passed over my question about Blazers/Clippers vs. Wizards/Nets in terms of easier 2nd-round opponent, and literally repeated himself.

Very odd posts.

To be fair, though, 2008 Celtics barely beat Hawks in first round and they won the title.

The west is better? If you can look at Indianas record and say they are good, we have 3 teams that have a better record than them in a better conference(SA, OKC, LAC). Two of which made it to the WCF. So, if we're looking at strictly process of elimination from top to bottom, they wouldn't make the WCF.

This whole Kevin Love/ Boston visit is a little bizarre. I can't quite grasp what the hell he is doing. At first I thought maybe Minnesota told him to explore options for a trade, but now I just think he is an ass. He is acting like he is a free agent. Can you imagine if this was LMA? We would be crucifying the guy. Knowing the egotistical Boston fans/press they could be blowing this out of proportion, but if not.....then it is really disrespectful to his current team/fans. I hate Minny fans and I even feel sorry for him.

There was a lot of Love to Boston Chatter before he visted. It seems like whatever team trades for him is going to want him to waive his opt out so he would be there at least two years so if Minny comes up and tells him Boston wants him but wants him to waive his opt out then a visit to Boston to see if he likes it makes sense.

I am not saying the west isn't a lot better than the east. I am saying, when all is said and done, Indiana lost in the ECF to Miami- 4-2, and OKC lost to SA in the WCF 4-2. Both teams got the shit kicked out of them in the conference finals, so one can't be any more of a contender than the other....can it?

Kevin Love being an ass isn't anything new.

How is Boston not getting in trouble for this?

My whole point (which has gotten ratified over the evolvement of this conversation) is that Indiana's record is because of their conference. I don't think the only reason they are contenders in peoples eyes is because of the conference they play in. I think they wilt in stiffer competition. As you say, they got their ass kicked by the Heat. Their only true competition. However, they really struggled against the Hawks. If they had played, say, the Rockets, or the Grizzlies, or someone who was clearly more superior than the Hawks in the first round, they would have lost.

Now, I know that they have no physical control over what conference they play. However, that doesn't hide the fact that the product they put on the floor is subpar against stiffer competition. And that's my main thing about Indiana. I don't think they deserve the title "contender" just for simply being in a weaker conference. It's just how I see it.

We are still running in circles here. lol.
