The trade that might make sense for us and them if they are targeting Tisse and Time Lord is...

Matisse and Rob to the Lakers
Vincent, Kleber, Knecht and a top 5 protected FRP probably 2030 so they still have they're 2032 pick to include in a subsequent deal.

Rather just keep Tisse

Lakers traded 2029 to Dallas so they can't trade 2030.

Camara is 25 years old, started every game last season he played, played more games than any Blazer, played more minutes than any Blazer, had 48 games last season he played over 32 minutes, and was All-NBA defense.

START CAMARA!
That is a very compelling argument. I love Camara. He is better than Grant. But again, it is not about which players are best; it is about which combination is best. And we are trying to have a winning record this year.
Camara also was the best 3pt shooter of all Blazers rotation players last season at 38% - so this idea that he should be benched to help the Blazers starting offense doesn't make sense with that argument either.

Do really believe that Tou is a better offensive player than Grant?

Grant wasn't a very good offensive player last year.

Blake Wesley is a better dribbler than Tou, should we consider starting him to get better ball control?

I believe Camara and Deni are clearly our two best players and should be locks to start. Benching either would be idiotic.

No, but he is certainly a better defender. Defense wins games.

True but we were specifically discussing offense for the starting unit. Is it enough?
Tou took a big jump from year one to year two. I could see him get up to 40% from three and average around 16 ppg. He could be one of the best three and D players in the league. The best part is that he does it within the flow of the offense.

He put up 11 ppg on 45% from the field and 37% from three on 14.4% usage.

Meanwhile Grant shot 37% from the floor and 36.5% from three for 14.4 ppg on 19.4% usage. This was his lowest usage in 4 seasons.

Two seasons ago Grant had 25.7% usage when he averaged 21 ppg on 45% from the field and 40% from three. His scoring shot through the roof when he got to Detroit and his usage went up to almost 30%. It dropped like a rock last season when his usage dropped. He’s a chucker. He needs the ball in his hands. He struggled when asked to play within the system instead of creating his own shots.

Id rather have Tou.

If we really are in a situation we need more offense in the starting lineup I'm benching Clingan before I'm benching Camara.

Go small and put Deni at center. Or throw Timelord/Duop out there. I'm not putting Camara or Deni on the bench.

Let's hope Shae has improved his 3pt shot. I think he will if he is surrounded by better offensive players and doesn't force as many.
I'm worried about Shaedon's shooting. His form is good and he has the very valuable ability to of being able to free himself to get a good look. But having an innate feel for the hoop while moving at playing speed isn't a trait everyone has and there is only so much practice can do to improve things. Many times last year I knew he wasn't making his shot before he released it based on his body language. Scorers lunge towards the chance to make a shot. Shaedon often looked like he knew it was expected that he put something up... or when he & everyone knew that the D may be been leaving him wide open on purpose.

Here's hoping his confidence was just off last year for some life reason or that maybe he had a hand issue that we didn't know about

Shocking that Scoot and Sharpe have confidence issues after being forced to play with and behind Ant.

Who could have ever guessed that might be a problem?

They needed the keys when we didn't care about winning so they could have the freedom play through mistakes. I fear they've lost that opportunity...

Exactly this, 1000 times

I call horseshit. It's not like they haven't had plenty of court minutes. You're young, you're insanely talented: carpe fucking diem.

Court time with Ant is counterproductive (for players like Sharpe and Scoot). Actively harmful. That's been my stance the entire time. I specifically said these two guys were going to have confidence and consistency issues if we didn't get Ant out of their way immediately.

I hope they're able to come back from it. They both have the size, athleticism, and ample skill to be stars in this league.

I hope we didn't fuck that up.

Nah kids are plenty pliable until they’re 23 or 24. There’s plenty of time to recover.
