And the other thing you are EPICALLY lost on, WELCOME TO SPORTS WHERE PLAYERS ARE OVERPAID ALL THE TIME. Either you do it and suck it up on the back end of the contracts, or you lose. All you do is say overpay, overpay, overpay every trade DL and free agency period. I don't get it.

I’m all for giving Mancini a chance to make the roster at camp as a right defenseman. What the Rangers need to do is take this year and develop as many young players as they can. It may be painful for a douchebag fans that never saw a Stanley Cup that they can remember, but it’s the right move. The salaries are completely insane and the Rangers have three key people they need to sign.

LMFAO…develop these kids and waste another year. Always wasting years. And that folks is why the Rangers don’t win. They sign over the hill superstars and then try and develop these “can’t miss” prospects that Dump eats the ass of, and they almost always miss. Marchessault is 33yo on a 5yr deal. Not sure that’s the type of contract i want to get stuck with.

A versatile RW who won the Conn Smythe just over a year ago....seems like it would have been a strong addition to me...I don't care about year 5 of the deal. They could've brought him in, immediately slotted him in with Zibanejad and Kreider. Wouldve been a great PP2 fit to boot. Brings leadership. Disappointing.

Dump’s a coward. Its ok. He’s avoided the bet twice because he knows he’s wrong. Yep, let’s throw in the towel a year after we went to the ECF to rebuild while we still have our goalie on a cap friendly contract only to try to go for it next year when our goalie wants 14% of the cap with him. And then we still have to resign our young guys and Panarin, unless you let him walk and then we are once again back to this EXACT same conversation of who will fill that role. Laf? Ok great. This is a serious question, what the F is Drury doing? Gets rid of Goodrow's cap hit, we have cap space, he F's around with Trouba which leaves him and us in limbo, some players go for really friendly contracts, and he has done nothing as almost no one of impact is left.

It’s ok to say that Drury has COMPLETELY fucked up and has now forced us to stick with this same team with young guys which is forcing us to punt this year away. But you have to put the blame where it belongs…Drury. We went to the ECF. We were a faceoff winning center, a physical dman to replace Trouba and a RW away from possibly beating Florida. This offseason that was all we needed. We had a chance to trade Trouba and keep it nice and gentlemanly and get possibly something back for him but at the very least ridding ourselves of him and his giant contract. Fucked that up ROYALLY. We had a chance to get Marchesaault to put with Kreider and Z. Fucked that up. But we did sign a WORSE version of Weinberg at least. Drury sucks.

It is almost impossible for him to be worse than he was at the trade DL, but he is actually doing it right now. I am truly lost on what his plan is currently.

Since none of us are privy to what is actually happening in the clown show of Drury’s office/brain this is what I will say. There’s only two possibilities here that are happening, and NEITHER are good.
The first is Drury is totally incompetent and has swung and missed on all of these guys who have gone for what appears is the new market value with the cap going up. That would be amazingly embarrassing and he should quit in shame right now if that’s the case.
The second is that Drury has offered similar contracts but none of these guys WANT to come here and play for a team that won the Presidents Trophy and went to the ECF. If that’s the case people need to ask these guys why that is and we need to fix that issue.

Colorado re-signed Drouin, Edmonton signed Arvidsson, Dallas re-signed Duchene and signed a backup goalie, and Carolina re-signed Martinook and extended Slavin. But I agree those teams haven't lit it up either, but I will also say two wrongs don't make a right.

Drury can’t even hit on these vet signings. Bonino, Pitlick, Wheeler. Buchnevic trade was a disaster. We have guys to play on the 4th line Edstrom, Rempe, Othmann, etc. what we needed was a guy to play with the two Houdini’s on the top line and a physical Dman.

New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba is expected to be placed on waivers following an unpleasant split with the team. When free agency opens on Monday (July 1), Trouba's no-move clause will be replaced with a 15-team no-trade list.

Trouba has two years remaining on his seven-year, $56 million contract. He is expected to play on the third defensive line, and the Rangers are unwilling to take a $8 million salary charge for the veteran defenseman.

According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, if Jacob Trouba opposes a potential trade to Detroit, as expected, the Rangers appear ready to transfer him somewhere, maybe through waivers.

“If Trouba does not approve a trade to Detroit that is believed in place, he will ultimately be sent somewhere else, perhaps by waivers. The decision has been made," Brooks wrote in his column.”

Recent events indicate that Trouba may tactically utilize his 15-team no-trade clause to impede trade, delaying the Blueshirts' efforts to remove his salary cap burden. According to reports, the captain still has strong views over the club's public announcement of its intentions last week.

Skjei is slightly above average. Het got 7 million a year. Marchashit is a PP specialist. Nothing more. What did he get 6 million a year? Stamkos is old with 2 cups. He doesn't give fuck about winning any longer. He's 34. The salaries are absurd and don't make any sense. The Rangers should sit tight. Play Othmann. Play Sykora. See if Mancini can make the team. Put Lafreniere on the first PP fucking unit. Be patient. Looking at free agency so far, teams will be dumping players at the deadline to relieve cap space. Not only will you get players, you will get them for half price and they will have to give you a good pick to take them.

So basically Drury fucked this up by letting it get into the public eye. I will say this, if we put Trouba on waivers to work around his NTC then we will never sign a worthwhile free agent while Drury is here. He will show that he does not honor contracts (yes he inherited Trouba) and uses loopholes to get rid of players. If I was a player there is zero percent I would come to NY with Drury knowing full well that even if I had a NTC that Drury would just put me on waivers to get rid of me. IF (and this is a big if) Trouba is put on waivers to be gotten rid of then Drury has to get fired as he will prevent us from being a major player in the free agent market going forward. Money matters, yes, but so does stability which is why these guys ask for NTCs. Can’t have a GM using a waiver loophole to supersede NTC twice in one offseason and thinking players don’t talk and see that.

Putting that aside, which I agree with on Trouba not Goodrow, the bottom line is it shows Drury is an absolute disaster and doesn't know what he is doing, the guy is clearly in over his head, hard to debate that right now. This is kind of crazy. Why get rid of Goodrow if you weren't going to use his money, why trade Trouba if you weren't going to make any moves anyway. The whole thing doesn't add up, it just doesn't, unless you conclude he is in over his head.

Still ignoring the bet. Come on dump. And no one here said Stamkos or Skjei were good and we missed them. Marchessault is NOT a PP only guy as a lot of his points came 5v5. But I wouldn’t expect a Drury knobslobberer like you to know that. 8 of 42 goals on the PP. Far less than Mika and Kreider that’s for sure. Kreider 18 of 39 came on PP (PP specialist). Duclair at $3.5M per for four years is a solid signing by the Isles, I would MUCH prefer that than dealing a 2nd for Smith for $5M per. Jesus Drury is awful.
