in Summer League, the winning stuff is somewhat secondary. Portland won the SL championship, with Watford & Elleby man-beasting all who dare challenge the Blazers.
I remember a couple comments about Elleby might be the steal of that draft.

shared in the CJ Elleby draft thread, from unknown Sporting News writer (the article expired/deleted)
"a big-time shotmaker with size, CJ absolutely looks the part of an NBA weapon and he could end up being a major steal in the draft."

Anyone calling Elleby a "shotmaker" had never seen him play. And I say that as someone who liked him.

I like how, so far, Donovan is the anti-Meyers. It doesn't take 8 seasons to decide on whether or not he should take an outside shot. And he doesn't seem to flex his muscles to make up for his severe insecurity.

why is meyers the bar?

Just to show the importance of Summer League, I believe this is last year's MVP:

Ware had a big game for Miami. The big dominated the guards in a victory.

Kris does look great physically. Really shows in the picture they posted today on Twitter.

My thing with Knect is that he's an old shotmaker that has solid but not great physical tools that doesn't stand out as a positive in any other area of the game.

I don't think he thinks the game at a super high level and I'm pretty confident his defense is going to be a negative. Not active or instinctive, doesn't navigate screens well...movement wise he's just not very good laterally or changing direction. He's strong and has decent length but there's not much to bank on on that end.

I don't know, his offense May be good enough to keep him in NBA rotations for a while, but his pathway to success is very narrow imo
