I guess Bill Simmons said CJ for Love would be an interesting trade. Someone on another forum mentioned Derozen is friends with Lillard, and if you could convince him to come here, that would be an interesting team next year.

I could get down with a derozen/whiteside pick up this offseason
I don't believe we will have Cap space for two max free agent signings. We could do a max guy and 3/4 max guy though probably.

history says this isn't a destination that max players are willing to take a pay cut to join forces in

but, you never know...

Dame
DeRozan
Aminu
Love
Whiteside

I'm not sure that would work under the cap. You'd have to max Whiteside and DeRozan. Love is making 20+ million per year, plus Dame's new deal kicks in. Between Whiteside, DeRozan, and Love, that's at least 60-70 million.

If people are complaining about the Dame/CJ, why would Dame/DeRozan be any better? The argument against Dame/CJ is they both need the ball to be their most effective. That's DOUBLY true of DeRozan since he isn't a shooter - at least Dame/CJ can both play the catch/shoot role while the other dominates the ball. Paying MAX for DeRozan would be dumb.

People don't want to admit it but the big problem they have with CJ is not that he needs the ball to be effective (because that isn't anymore true than a lot of other NBA players) it is because they think he is too short (even though he isn't the same short guy that he was when drafted) to be a SG (so he must be a combo. he just has to be in their minds. it is nonsense but it is something you can say over and over again and they aren't going to change their stance).

That isn't to say that size doesn't play a factor (especially on D) but let's remember these are two guys that improve in some area every year. They both know they need to improve on D and it isn't like they are giving up more points then they make themselves (so really the other team's guards must be horrible at D too right?).

I was initially in that camp that thought he was too small. But I no longer feel that way. Rational people can change their opinions. :)

My problem with CJ is that he's quiet, introverted, and standoffish. What a jerk!

Derozan has a higher USG than CJ lol

Let the cake bake and it will improve. That's been the tittle for the Blazers for years now. Just wait...............and the beat goes on......

Whiteside doesn't make teams better.

If we traded CJ for a star bigman (Cousins?) Then I wouldn't mind signing Derozen as our starting 3 and starting Crabbe at the 2.

Do you honestly think that after trading presumed superstar #1 pick Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love, they would proceed to deal him for Meyers Leonard less than two years later?
Not saying they would, but Love doesn't have to value he had 2 years ago.

Nope, but I'm pretty sure Dan Gilbert still has the same ego he had 2 years ago. I don't see him being willing to swallow so much pride as to be willing to sell that low on his Kevin Love investment.

Blazers should try and get dennis schroder. Would be perfect as the backup point. Could play with both Lillard and McCollum. I don't know what it'd take but I'd trade a future first for him. I've loved his game ever since I saw him at the hoop summit.

And count me in as the guy that still wants Ben McLemore. He just needs a change of scenery. Probably won't cost much either. Once Henderson is traded some minutes will open up. Let McLemore and Harkless battle it out.

Schroder.
Picked him up a few weeks back on my deep fantasy league. Feel like he's another Reggie Jackson in OKC situation-- dude is a lower tier starter PG in the league, but starter nonetheless

Allen Crabbe is better than McLemore. And Ben was picked 24 picks ahead of AC.

Well, if ATL is looking to move Teague, they must think he's their PGOTF.

I think Will Barton will make them pause about trading young bench players at the deadline..thanks Will..Kaman may be out the door though
