There are so many threads started about a specific trade idea, I figured it would be easier to just start an all-encompassing trade-idea thread that could be made Sticky.

Lots of talk lately about Richard Jefferson, but I'm not the biggest fan. Charlotte has made some strange trades recently, bringing in guys like Bell, Diop and Diaw.

What do you think about this trade?

Outlaw + Rudy + RLEC -> G.Wallace + Raja Bell

Gives Charlotte young talent at the 2 and 3 spots with cheap contracts, and we have our backup SG in Bell (who is a veteran and always been labeled an above average defender).

I can't check it in the trade checker on ESPN because Raja Bell has a Trade Restriction that expires on February 10th. Until then he can only be traded by himself, due to him being traded earlier this year from PHX to CHA. But in a few days this will no longer be the case.

I'm hesitant on giving up Bayless, and Rudy as well, but is this something others would consider? I tihnk it looks pretty reasonable and fair, talent wise...depending on how big of a Homer you are I think people might see this as making sense.

What do you all think about this idea?

I'd do it in a New York minute!!

Hell, Charlotte might even be coaxed into considering it.

I like G. Wallace for our team, but I don't know if I wanna give up a promising rookie in Rudy for an injury prone (albeit very good) player in Wallace.

Doubt it. Outlaw and Rudy don't seem like Larry Brown players.

Honestly they might be more interested in the cost savings than the players coming back ... but while I don't think he'd be wild about Travis, he'd probably love Rudy's smarts and passing as well as off ball movement.

Hard to say

I just posted this another thread.

Mike and Mike have said Charlotte wants Webster included in any trade with Portland. I also read on ESPN.com that Charlotte wants to get rid of Nazr Muhammad's contract. With this trade Charlotte would clear $15.5MM off their books and add two prospects they covet for their future.

Portland trades: RLEC, Webster, Sergio (+ cash, picks if needed)
Charlotte trades: Wallace, Nazr

Make it so. This would be like Second Christmas.

Do it KP! If we make a trade, i do think it would need to clear a player out of the SF and PG position, so trading Webster, Sergio and Raef for Wallace works for me...

Blake | Bayless
Roy | Rudy
Wallace | Batum
Aldridge | Outlaw
Oden | Pryzbilla.

I doubt an "official trade suggestion thread" is realistic. People like to talk about trade ideas and if we limit it to a big thread it's going to get less discussion than multiple threads would.

Yeah...I know...I just wanted to be popular and have my name near the top of the post list all of the time...okay, not really. But yeah, I don't know if it warrants a sticky unless it really does evolve. :dunno:

I'm not a massive fan of stickied threads, personally. The "Playoff Thread" has 133 posts, and it's been stickied for weeks. Compare that to the over 300 posts in tonight's game thread and it demonstrates (to me) how unpopular sticked threads are.

Of course, if it evolves and it makes sense, I won't stand in the way of it being stickied :)

Raef for the Bucks's 2014 1st round pick.

Bake it!

Looks like a playoff winning team to me!!

Because I covet Granger, I like to dream up ways to land him. Might Amare Stoudemire be a worthy substitution for him?

If so, then I'd suggest a deal in which Amare goes to Indy, Granger comes to us (along with the terrible contracts of Murphy and Tinsley), and Phoenix gets RLEC, Outlaw, Batum, and Freeland (along with our 1st rd pick).

Obviously we do the deal, and I think Indy would, so I guess the main question would be, is that enough cap space and young talent for PHX to make that deal? :dunno:

Uh no. For one, Granger is worth more than Stoudemire. Second, Suns and Indy would just cut Portland out of the deal and the Suns would grab Granger. (That is assuming Indy covets Stoudemire more than Granger, which they don't)

Phoenix won't be trading Stoudemire unless they want to tremendously remake their roster from a financial perspective. I don't think that the Pacers are a team that they can deal with that will allow them to do that.

If it's not about dollars and cents, the Suns will just keep Amare.

The reason that both Indy and PHX would want us involved would be our ability to give RLEC to PHX, while taking Murphy/Tinsley from from IND. Those two, and the approx $45M they're owed over the next 2.4 years more than make up the difference in value between Amare and Granger.

Granger is a better player than Stoudemire, plus he's locked in for the next few years whereas Amare could easily bolt in 2010.

Indy isn't giving up their franchise player just to dump Tinsley. BTW, Murphy is a useful player, even if he's a bit overpaid.

Think of it this way: If Raef had 3 years left on his gargantuan contract, would you trade Roy just to dump him? (And keep in mind, Tinsley's contract isn't as bad as Raef's in this situation)

And then, Phoenix wouldn't do it. You're going to have to add at least Rudy to get them talking.

Also, the Pacers are recovering from their own "jailblazer" era, and so they aren't going to want to replace good-guy-granger with not-exactly-sweet-little-Amare.

I'd love Granger, but I don't think he's going anywhere.

Better comparison might be Zach, if he were still on our roster but not playing (since Tinsley has basically been given the Terrell-Owens-in-Philly treatment); and to make the situations comparable, Rudy would have to have had a few years in the league and have proven himself capable of starting (as Dunleavy has for Indy).

So, IF all that were true, and I could trade Roy and Zach for an inferior-to-Roy-but-still-perennial-all-star player in his prime at my team's greatest position of need--Harris at PG, perhaps?--then I'd seriously consider it. If I had to choose between a Blake/Roy backcourt, or a Harris/Rudy one, and the latter saves my team money, then I probably take door #2.

Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?

Well, Harris doesn't have the chance to bolt like Amare does.

Anyways, I wouldn't consider it. And history shows that you'd be best served keeping your franchise player.
