Heaven help the megacities!

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-...sea-level-faster-in-threat-to-megacities.html

Hard to tell what will do us first these days, Ebola or Sea Level?

I just figured out my health insurance cost for the wife and I in 2015. Just exactly twice as much as it was for 2014.

2014 was the first year it has cost me anything out of the past 54 years.
Damn this ObamaCare is a blessing, err for someone I hear. Not here though,
I think this may get me first. It really pisses me off.

It was unstoppable all along.

So, you think you should be entitled to lifetime free health care? Why?

Aquaman shall replace Batman as the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs.

It was part of the payment for services rendered.
All was going well until ObamaCare added a tax for the payer to pay if they continued to provide the insurance. It also made it legal to stop providing the insurance.

I apparently have been.

You were not paying until Obamacare. Now I use the VA but my wife doesn't, she has to buy insurance and due to a funny little quirk in the ACA, I have to buy it too even though I don't need it since I have the VA
coverage.

It's the same one, just today it is smaller and still shrinking.

Ah! that one is gone. The NW passage opened up here a few years ago. I think it is closing again. The Canadian Ice service shows it choked in several spots but it was open when I looked in 2009-10

No, I mean you should write the check directly. It's your fault he lost his.

And as he points out, it was part of his compensation.

Name this tune.

"Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive"

Because it was part of his retirement package?

He should be mad at IBM, then. They could have continued his retirement package, and chose not to. Or he could be mad at himself for believing that they would.

If you like your health insurance, you can keep your health insurance.

We were lied into this scam to enrich big insurance companies. How can you defend it with a straight face?

Because I'm not blinded by ideology like you. Our healthcare system has always been a scam to enrich insurance companies. Single payer is the answer, this is one baby step towards that. It's a baby step because certain people in this country can't even handle this sort of incremental change.

Says the guy who thinks anyone who wants to live past 75 is selfish.

Your are ideologically blind, that's very clear.

Emmanuel and I don't look anything alike. I'm not sure how you can get us mixed up.

I pretty much quoted you verbatim.

Actually, I just looked back and you pretty much did not quote me verbatim. Also, I learned from that thread that you are a pedophile. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Baseless accusation. I have nothing to be ashamed of. I'm not the one standing by the liar in chief.

Why do you think the ACA put a tax on these health care plans if they continue?
They want the self insured plans to be a thing of the past so that everyone buys insurance from the government approved plans, so that we are all in the same pools.

Nothing fair for anyone to tax health plans, it doesn't make sense. They taxed them to make them go away just like cigarettes. To further this line to force people to buy insurance there is another cute little provision. In order to receive HRA funding, I must purchase insurance even though I don't need it. Having my wife purchase insurance is not enough to satisfy the government rule. The federal government is holding us all by a fucking tether while the insurance companies rifle your pockets.

Geez!

I'm not sure that's true. From everything I've seen, self-insured plans actually allow a company to avoid some of the ACA taxes, and thus there is speculation that more companies will move to self-insurance. For example:

uh, I have not checked all companies but I do know of at least a million people that had they insurance coverage discontinued when the tax was implemented and it became a legal alternative to discontinue the coverage instead. It does seem intuitively obvious the choice the company would take and the choice the government preferred they choose.

The articles you put forward are pertinent to employees, not retired employees. The is no fine for dropping them, as a matter of fact that is part of the problem, the act made it entirely legal to drop us, we have no recourse.
