A coach with two years experience and no conference titles?

I'm guessing Alabama will be shooting a little higher than that.

And a $20 million dollar buyout

I think they’ll go after Kiffin

I don’t think Lanning’s going anywhere. Who wants to attempt to fill Saban’s shoes.

You really think Alabama's #1 choice is Lanning?
I think their #1 choice is Kirby, but I don’t think that’s a conversation that gets off the ground.

Then I think it’s some combination of Lanning, Kiffin, and Sark.

I lean towards Sark being #1 but I don’t think he leaves Texas - so I don’t think that conversation goes anywhere.

Then I think Lanning is slightly ahead of Kiffin, although I could see a case for Kiffin being slightly ahead of Lanning.

I don't think any head coach got to where they're at without an irrational amount of self-confidence, so I doubt the thought of failing will prevent anyone from taking the job.

The Ducks added another CB via the portal, Kam Alexander of UTSA. He is said to be an elite cover guy who should start. Oregon has added a hell of a lot of top talent in their defensive backfield this offseason. Fingers crossed on them adding WR Evan Stewart in the coming week

We shall see on the Bama coaching seach, but CDL's got a pretty good gig going right now. Oregon finished the year ranked 6th to Bama'a 5th, they stacked up another top 10 recruiting class according to every site, have done as well as anyone in the portal & are absolutely loaded going into next year. So attaining top talent is clearly not an issue and Lanning has Oregon situated as the top football school on the West coast going forward. Why anyone would prefer to raise their young family in Tuscaloosa over Eugene is beyond me. Again, we shall see...

I remember it wasn't that long ago that Lanning was as good as gone to A&M. The national bloviators were saying it was a done deal. Now, teh same stupid fucking asswipes are saying the same thing about Lanning and Alabama...and tongl is trying to troll

I don't think it will happen. Several people tightly connected to the Ducks don't think it will happen. Duck players don't think it will happen. Colin Cowherd said he's been told that DeBoer is the #1 target and Lane Kiffin is #2

Lanning? Dan Lanning? The Ducks coach? The one who went on multiple broadcasts, interviews, and podcasts and delivered animated and lengthy sermons about how great he has it in Eugene and at UofO and avowing that he's not going anywhere? Are we talking about that Dan Lanning?

Just because he is the #1 target doesn’t mean he is interested … no one is saying he is actually leaving

Trying? There is no try, only do. BTW, my sources tell me that Lanning was in Alabama today for meetings.

Odds to replace Nick Saban:

Odds via Bookies.com

  • Dan Lanning (Oregon): +300
  • Dabo Swinney (Clemson): +350
  • Mike Norvell (Florida State): +450
  • James Franklin (Penn State): +650
  • Lane Kiffin (Ole Miss): +700
  • Kalen DeBoer (Washington): +1500
  • Mike Vrabel: +2000
  • Deion Sanders (Colorado): +5000

I figured Lanning would get poached. The Ducks program is becoming a stepping stone for coaches who want to springboard back to the East coast.

If he leaves how many of our great new commits do we keep?

Looking at how much Deboer is losing at UW roster wise, he’d be dumb not to go to Alabama. He’s not the greatest recruiter and Alabama recruits itself. He’ll just have to work on his southern drawl. For every Nick Saban there’s been several Mike Price, Dennis Franchione’s and Mike Shula’s.

He’d probably bring Grubb with him as well.

Then we’d have Jonathon Smith kicking himself for jumping ship when he did.

I personally think it will be someone with strong ties down south. Probably Norvell

Just took a random screenshot at a random time, it definitely loads.

No clue if it’s true or not though.
