This sucks and I really thought he had potential to be a NFL star maybe not superstar but damn good -- RIP Jackson
 
Maryland State Police tell TMZ ... Jackson, Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton were driving in a maroon Dodge Charger in Upper Marlboro early this morning when they collided with two other automobiles.

During their preliminary probe, investigators learned that one of the other motorists in a silver Infiniti rammed into the Charger while trying to change lanes at a high rate of speed. That sent the Charger crashing into a moving Chevy Impala before barreling off the roadway into a bunch of trees where the car finally came to a stop.

Seems pretty clear that the car changing lanes at a high rate of speed was street racing.

Maybe that will be proven incorrect. But I doubt it.

The car was speeding while passing their car on a state highway.
Isn't street racing normally on a street, not a highway?

No. I see cars street racing on the highway probably several times per year.

Are you doing it recklessly (like exceeding the speed limit) with competitive intent? If so, then yes, absolutely.

And if that is what you do, I would suggest you stop doing that.

In other words, if you aren't exceeding the speed limit you wouldn't be "changing lanes at a high rate of speed", you would just be changing lanes. And doing so would not result in multiple fatalities.

In this case, only one car was speeding and being reckless. I think most people consider street racing when two cars are both racing at a high speed. Not when one car is reckless and speeding while trying to pass.
 
When I posted the report of what happened my first thought was street racing. I hope it's not the case, but also reading the link that @Pinwheel1 posted the police are saying high rates of speed, alcohol, and 3am seems like street racing, drunk driving, or both. That doesn't mean that Jackson was drinking or racing. He couldn've have been in the absolute wrong time and place. There were 3 cars involved. But this tragic accident seems like there were multiple people who were making poor choices.

Police say their preliminary investigation shows an Infinity Q50 driven by Cori Clingman was traveling northbound on Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue and they believe she attempted to change lanes “while driving at a high rate of speed” when she hit a Dodge Charger driven by Hazel with Jackson in the passenger seat and Lytton in the back seat, as well as a Chevrolet Impala.

The Charger went off the road and “struck multiple tree stumps where the vehicle came to rest,” according top police, who said Hazel and Jackson were pronounced deceased on the scene and Lytton was transported to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center, where he later was pronounced deceased.

Clingman and two passengers in her vehicle were not injured and the driver of the Impala was not injured, according to police, who said they “believe alcohol may have been a contributing circumstance in the crash” and charges are pending."

Doesn't sound like they knew them.

I never said they did. When you were a teen or young man you never raced anyone off a light or hit the accelerator when someone was passing you and raced them a little? Fuck I did.

Not saying that the driver of the Charger was doing any of that but for all three to die in that car, which is a big heavy car, seems like speed was a factor.

No, a single car can engage in street racing as well.

Often times, you see them doing this trying to get somebody else to join in.

I did. 100%

And I'm not saying anybody was evil. It's just a shitty situation that everyone can learn from. Speed really does kill in cars.

And obviously alcohol is a huge factor as well.
 
Holy Fuck!

Khyree Jackson's death shocked the sports world ... and, now TMZ has photos from the scene showing the aftermath of the tragic crash.

The Minnesota Vikings cornerback was driving in a Dodge Charger alongside Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton earlier Saturday morningwhen the crash occurred ... and photos now show that Dodge Charger completely disfigured.

Pictures show the car being loaded onto the back of a tow truck ... flattened with the back part of the vehicle severed from the rest of the cab.

Another snap shows just the back half of the car ... mangled badly with the interior poking through the parts of the car's body that were stripped away.

While he's very quick and decisive in his cuts as well, Dakorien Moore adds a true speed burner to Oregon's attack. He's posted multiple times in the 100M dash in the 10.4 range.

from what I've read, he loves Oregon while his family would prefer the Florida native to stay closer to home. If Mario's Hurricanes hadn't consistently spit the bit the last two seasons claiming losses from the jaws of victory, he'd be a Cane. The concern is that another down season for them and major changes could be in store at the U. How the two teams fare this next season may end up playing a role in where he ultimately signs, but in the meantime his upcoming July 17th commitment seems likely to be to UO.
