It would take a lot of mental gymnastics to conclude anything else.
There's an argument to be made for making your own luck via preparation...yes, he's a great coach, although the number of one-possession games he's won (with an incredible amount of crazy luck) over the last 3 seasons may be worth an asterisk
there is a pretty interesting component to this though. He was at Washington for the 2022 & 2023 seasons
* in 2022, his recruiting class ranked 95th. Now, that was a coaching transition class so you'd expect a lower mark. But UW's 2021 class, with Jimmy Lake, ranked 30th. A collapse from 30 to 95 is crazy. He had 9 de-commits that year. That's really not out of the ordinary for a coaching change. But Willie Taggart, Mario Cristobal, and Dan Lanning all did way better in their transition classes
* in 2023, his class ranked 26th (I'm using 247's composite rankings by the way). Dan Lanning's class ranked 9th
justifiably so, his reputation as a coach was much better than his reputation as a recruiter.
HOWEVER!....his 2024 his Alabama class ranked 2nd (Oregon ranked 3rd). Now, it's important to note that Alabama hire Deboer a month AFTER the first NLI day on Dec 15. So, almost all of the credit for the 2024 class should go to Saban
* But, currently for the 2025 class, Alabama ranks 2nd behind Ohio State (Oregon 8th)
'meaning'....there is likely a lot of truth to the old saying about Alabama recruits itself. And that can be applied to most blue blood like Ohio St., Michigan, Georgia, Texas, Florida schools. Deboer showed no elite recruiting ability; not really even high quality recruiting ability in....until he landed in Tuscaloosa

relaying a quote from Jaron via rivals...He's a Cal commit but Ducks have invited him to come visit.
"Keawe Sagapolutele has clearly established himself as one of the nation’s top quarterbacks this off-season. He has really had a great spring and summer including a recent top 11 finish at the prestigious Elite 11 Finals. You can make an argument he has the strongest arm in the country but doesn’t just throw all fastballs and has really improved in his ability to change speeds and throw with touch. His deep ball accuracy is among the best in the country as well and he can really layer the football in to tight windows. His release is smooth and tight and he has improved in his ability to make quick decisions and get the ball out on time. The next big jump we want to see this fall is improving his mobility, avoiding sacks and being more of a threat running the ball when the pocket breaks down. All the physical tools are there and Keawe Sagapolutele has a very high ceiling and NFL potential if he continues to develop at his current rate."

“I grew up watching Mariota. Oregon has been my dream school since I could remember. Just how they always produce NFL talent, it’s consistent, and I know they have great quarterbacks that come out of there. They have a great play style on offense especially with what they’re doing with Dillon right now. That’s something that really caught my eye.”
have you ever been to Autzen? Concrete and earth filled structures aren't very flammable
The Stomp Out Cancer uniforms they are wearing on Friday are awesome. Love the story and meaning behind it.
but GO SPARTANS!![]()
Someone else recommended chainsaw sounders, which would also be good.Definitely the fight song.

What she said ^Ducks should just play the game and then focus on next week. J. Smith is similar to Mike Riley, you can pencil them in for one big upset win a season. Don't overlook MSU!
Idk. Maybe they should just look ahead to the Ohio State game and play down to their opponent like they did the first two games?Ducks should just play the game and then focus on next week. J. Smith is similar to Mike Riley, you can pencil them in for one big upset win a season. Don't overlook MSU!
It's the only way to properly prepare for OSU.Idk. Maybe they should just look ahead to the Ohio State game and play down to their opponent like they did the first two games?
I bet YOU wish your team could “play down” to their opponents level and STILL be undefeated, Huh? #GoDucksIdk. Maybe they should just look ahead to the Ohio State game and play down to their opponent like they did the first two games?
Nah, they already played down to OSU’s level and won by 30 I believe. #GoDucksIt's the only way to properly prepare for OSU.
Watch out brother. The Ducks are awesome but they always find a way to lay an rotten egg at some point of the season.I bet YOU wish your team could “play down” to their opponents level and STILL be undefeated, Huh? #GoDucks
Watch out brother. I am the one on this forum that was cool with my Blazers just making it to the playoffs every year.Watch out brother. The Ducks are awesome but they always find a way to lay an rotten egg at some point of the season.
Also you do realize OSU is also Ohio State University right?
So you’re good with them losing to the second OSU but not the first OSU.Watch out brother. I am the one on this forum that was cool with my Blazers just making it to the playoffs every year.
