If its a bidding war with Texas and whoever else, would the Ducks be better off spending big bucks on D linemen? Oregon's not short on receivers for next year.
maybe it's changed in the 6 months, but I had it on pretty good authority that the Ducks did not participate in bidding wars. They set a value on recruits and transfer portal targets and stuck to it. Oregon does not have the huge NIL resources of some of these programs and tends to be more invested in keeping the players they have

I don't know what their offer for Henry is, but if he goes elsewhere then that would leave more money for the transfer portal and there may not be a program in the FBS that's been better than Oregon in the transfer portal. In the Lanning era, the transfers:

2022:

Bo Nix
Bucky Irving
Noah Whittington
Casey Rogers
Chase Cota
Christian Gonzalez
Jordan Riley
Taki Taimani

2023:

Nikko Reed
Nishad Strother
Gary Bryant Jr.
Casey Kelly
Tysheem Johnson
Jordan Burch
Evan Williams
Tez Johnson
Anjani Cornelius
Junior Angilau
Kyree Jackson
Traeshon Holden
Jestin Jacobs

2024:

Dillon Gabriel
Peyton Woodyard
Dante Moore
Derrick Harmon
Kobe Savage
Jubbar Muhammed
Brandon Johnson
Jamaree Caldwell
Evan Stewart
Kam Alexander
Atticus Sappington
Mathew Bedford

2025:

James Ferguson Reynolds
Jadon Canady
Emmanuel Pregnon
Malik Benson
Bear Alexander
Isaiah World
Jamari Johnson
Alex Harkey
Theran Johnson
Dillon Thienaman

and if it's a concern about missing out on a WR, look at the WR transfers: Chase Cota, Gary Bryant Jr. Traeshon Holden, Tez Johnson, Evan Stewart, Malik Benson; even Jamari Johnson figure in that. The Ducks will be fine at WR

Totally with you here though I don't think that the projected 2026 roster has many glaring holes. If the staff feels that the young OLineman or LBs aren't ready yet, I'd expect them to dip into the portal.

From what I've been led to believe, Oregon's prospect NIL offers are structured and while substantial they don't get into bidding wars. That they don't want to go overboard for any one prospect to avoid creating jealousy issues with everyone else. Pretty sure guys NIL deals are readjusted each year reflecting their contributions to team success.

btw... Henry is now said to be announcing his commitment on the Pat McAfee show tomorrow morning

Nope. He’s staying at Ohio State.
Oh well. Hopefully they'll be able to get by with their two incoming 5 star Wide Receivers (Lott & Bair) and a high 4 star (Hampton). The five star #1 TE in the class (Kendre Harrison) will help as well. In case you're not familiar with him, heres some highlights from one of his games this fall...

For those who root for Oregon. I highly suggest the QB11 show recap of the new class linked below.... tlongll can hate listen
