OT-ish: Anthony Randolph for a 1st rounder?

He has a style of play that's similar to Lamar Odom. 6-11 and can actually handle the ball a little bit. Give him some time and he could be something.

That said, I'm sure Cho will do nothing.

I'd be very happy dealing a first round pick, top-five and maybe top-ten protected, for Randolph. He's no longer as blue chip a prospect as he once was, but I still think his potential is high. Worth taking a chance on if the cost is just a late-lottery/mid first round pick.

your ignorance is exceeded with this dumb "lets trade for eric maynor nonsense'

eric maynor is another blazer favorite. makes sense why you like him. cant shoot, average passer, has potential, and overated defender. all things blazer fans look for.

That depends on how much basketball you watch. Eric Maynor is very important to OKC because it allows them to move Russel Westbrook to SG, where he actually gets most of his production. What Maynor does in a positive fashion for OKC, is nearly silent in the stat column. He isn't asked to do much in OKC. In a different environment, it may or may not be different, depending on how the coach uses him. Go watch an OKC game sometime. Take note of when Russel Westbrook really starts to turn on the production. It is almost always when Maynor comes in, and enables him.

Anthony Randolph needs the right situation where the team leadership can bring him out of his funk. He needs the right environment, where the messages from the coaches, and the players around him, are positive for growth, rather then the pressure filled environment he is in now, especially being in New York. Is Portland that place? Where Roy, Camby, and Bill Bayno can go to work on on him and get him turned around?

Also keep in mind that New York is probably still interested in Rudy. You know, Rudy the guy that shoots 36% here? Yea that guy.

what the fuck happened to rudy?????????? man after his first year saying he went downhill is like saying oden has had a couple surgeries.

The Blazer bench is terrible, and Randolph can get easy baskets and difficult rebounds on athleticism alone. Seems like a logical and necessary trade if it is actually based in reality. :dunno:

average pg???? beno on sac? felton on knicks? beldesoe on clippers.

hes not even close to those guys even if he played 35+ a night. he might get better but i doubt it....

isnt their a pacers forum where you could go convince yourself hibbert is the best center in the nba or something or maybe mcroberts has a chance at the all star game?

So all I have to do is average the numbers of Beno, Felton, and Bledsoe and that will give me the numbers Maynor must produce?

Not for sure what the Pacer swipe was all about. I am not the one making outlandish claims.

It's make too much sense for this team to do this deal.

Felton's average? He's putting up All-Star numbers right now.

Alright, don't make any more statements about how good a player is, you have proven you have no fuckin clue about the NBA.

oh mclueless..... if eric maynor is ever as good as any of the above.... i will apologize for calling you clueless.

and is eric maynor above those guys? should i now put eric in roses or rondos league? hes elite now? man cho better get busy on this kid. NOW.

This fall the Knicks measured him at 7'0" 222 lbs., do you strictly play him at the four or a small five?

when it makes too much sense....

chandler, collison, mo williams, varejo.... i know i have confidence cho will look in another direction.

Agree with your short-list. But I'd add Gallanari. Our bench needs a shooter - and he can score.

I'd prefer him - playing the SF with Batum over Batum and Randolph. (Then we can get rid of Babbitt altogether).

I think Rudy and picks might get this done if our pick is what would sway Denver to pull the trigger on a Carmello-to-NY deal.

Second on my list is Varejao. Not sure what we need to do in order to get him. I think the only way is a deal involving Pryz and his expiring. But I like having Pryz to spell Camby. I'd still pull the trigger on a Pryz for Varejao deal - even if it meant moving LMA to the 5 when Camby is out of the game.

Point guard will have to wait until the trade deadline or off-season in my opinion.

Why wouldn't you play Andy at the 5? He's 6'11" and 260 (vs LMA 6'11" and 240) and starts at Center for CLE.

As for the Randolph deal, this makes too much sense. The Rudy/NO 1st rounder should be automatic.

With the dearth of real beefy centers in the league you could probably get away with playing him at either spot. I don't think the distinction really matters.

oh mixie boy. Quit changing subjects. Felton is an above average PG and even someone who rarely watches basketball knows that.

Admit it. You don't know shit about the game. Its okay.

I am going to agree with MIXUM on this one. Felton is certainly not in that top tier of PG's. In a free agent market where alot of mediocre talent got overpaid, Felton was only able to get two years guaranteed at just above the MLE. His numbers are not going to get alot of respect since he is in Dantoni's system. I would still rather have Andre Miller this season for the Blazers.

Bledsoe and Beno are both fair. Of the starting PG's in the league, they are arguably the worst starters.

Other gauges that could be used:

25 minutes a game over a season
6 assists per game over a season
Start 60 games in a season
15 ppg over a season

Felton's #'s have gone up in New York because he has an All-Star player aside him.

Your making strawman arguments. I never said he was a top tier PG, I also never said I'd rather have him over Andre (to some that might be debateable). All I said, is that he's an above average PG. 18ppg and 8apg this year would agree with me.

You agree with Mixum that 18 and 8 is average production from a PG?

I've always wondered why people think so little of him. Seems like he's always put up decent numbers.

I'm just gonna throw this out there... Rashad McCants is looking for a job. If Rudy goes, I think he'd be a good and cheap replacement

Probably way more talented than anyone you guys would pick assuming you're always in mid-late first or late lotto area. But the fact that the Knicks are willing to move him so fast after they just acquired him (and were in love with him) is concerning. When he was traded from GS for Lee it just seemed like giving up talent for a proven player despite the internal issues he had there. Now its becoming a trend.

It's "concerning" that they want to trade Anthony Randolph to get Carmelo Anthony?? Wouldn't every GM do that?

If it helps, the McClueless handle he has given you does not fit either.

Anyway,

Felton's #'s have gone up in New York because he has an All-Star player aside him.

And he is in Dantoni's system. Look at what Chris Duhon did in it without Amare. 7 assists and 11 pts in 2008-09.

Depends on your definition of average. Here are how the numbers break out.

Start with nine pg's that no doubt you would rather have over Felton:

Paul, Nash, Deron, Rondo, Westbrook, Wall, Kidd, Rose, and Parker

Add another two that I would take, but are debatable:

Andre Miller and Billups

That is eleven, making the best I would put Felton is at twelve.

However, I think he gets put into the same group of players as Nelson, Conley, Harris, Curry, Jennings, Collison, Hinrich. Ridnour, etc. That makes him an average starter.

If we are talking above average in relation to all point guards whether a starter or not, I agree that Felton is an above average pg.

You agree with Mixum that 18 and 8 is average production from a PG?

Again, look at the numbers Duhon put up then compared to what he is doing in Orlando. The money Felton was able to get in Free Agency is alot closer to the money Kyle Lowry pulled down than it is what the cheap Memphis franchise gave Mike Conley.

I don't think you can say Felton having the year he's having is just a D'antoni affect. I think Larry Brown broke him down and rebuilt him into a real point guard and now he's in a system that is more wide open and he's capitalizing. Make no mistake he looks like a top ten point guard and he's a huge reason why the Knicks are playing as well as they are.

It doesn't concern you that Denver doesn't want AR? No one's going to give what appears to be a future lotto pick for AR. The first rounder they get back in an AR trade will probably be projected as a mid/late first. And if we're to assume AR is moved for a mid/late-first then the talent one would acquire in that draft slot would likely be nowhere near the talent that AR has. Yet Denver wants nothing to do with AR and would prefer a mid-first.

AR had issues in GS that were blamed on immaturity and Don Nelson being a prick. He requested a trade his rookie year and there were chronic rumblings of issues with him being a headcase. NY was in love with him and to be honest I think Larry Riley and Nellie were done with him and pretty convinced he was more trouble than he was worth. The trade came off as a simple "all-star" for a prospect and a couple of role players swap but I think AR was for sure gone in Larry Riley's eyes, he just happened to land a quality player in exchange.

Then AR gets to NY to mixed results. D'Antoni seems to love his talent and its very up and down. Playing time is sporadic and I believe D'Antoni criticized AR publicly. Now AR doesn't play at all. And they're trying to dump him two months into the season for a first round pick. Yeah its all a scheme to get Melo but you now have GS and NY that have/had problems with him behind the scenes and want to dump him and Denver doesn't want any of him (even though hes probably more talented than anyone they would get from that draft pick).
