Do you need to believe in God to practice Judaism? I imagine there are plenty of Jewish atheists who eat kosher, observe Passover, and eschew tattoos (et al).

i mean.. just look at that white blonde hair.....

i see lots of people with that hair. They just happen to be mostly 13-14 year olds...

Isn't it both?

I have actually always had questions about people who identify as Jewish. Can they all trace their heritage back to Israel? The wild card is that it's also a religion.... so do people who practice the religion but were born something else still call themselves Jews? I think it's really interesting.

Back when I was 7 or 8, late 50's I used the word Whore in front of my parents at the dinner table. Needless to say I was immediately chastised. They both asked if I knew what the word meant and I replied I think I do, its a girls thats so stupid and ugly that she's a whore like in thirteen ghost. I got immediately chastised again. That encounter stuck with me all my life.
 
Moved the thread to OT because the conversation has moved from Meyers and the NBA to... other things.

And it's stuff like this with Meyers that makes me appreciate Lillard and CJ even more. Our two longtime main players and not a peep or hint about anything negative, controversial, outrageous.

mods if you remove the bad message then how will people learn?

this is the type of censorship i think actually hinders us as we progress.
We are a short term memory society.
Sometimes certain words must be spoken allowed to maintain knowledge they aRe bad?


This is where i say we are now too sensitive as a society. Yes the words are bad but discussing how they aRe bad shouldnt be bad.

im a white man and grew up in a mobile home in the woods until highschool.
I was white trash.
I dont agree with people saying white trash anymore than anything else, but i dont get pissed or tell someone not to say it when explaining how its bad.
Eventually everyone will think the word n***** actually means noone. Or something


When we wipe things from existence they will come back and rear its ugly head all over again.

Just saying...

With someone(s) actively trying to hurt the forum and some of their members I have asked staff to delete posts that could be misrepresented and forwarded to the Blazers.

As far as using this forum for the progress of society I would just say there are much better resources for that on the internet than a basketball forum.

Secular Jew. And yes, many of us observe holidays, dietary laws, etc. because they are culturally important. But I don't attend services except for family funeral, Bat Mitzvah, and occasions like that.
