Its no wonder how James puts up huge numbers, he gets a 3rd of them from calls.
Anyone see that CLEAR block by the DPOY (someone who you would think would have reputation w/ the refs) on a James 3?
I am glad the TNT crew lays into the refs more so than the ABC one (JVG I'm looking at you) who just praises them on end.

What else is new.... the NBA has their anointed ones, and if you're anointed, you can do no wrong.

Do you listen to the same JVG as me? JVG and Mark Jackson put the refs on blast when Houston was getting all the love from the refs in the Lakers' series. He has put them on blast a few times this post season.

But yeah, the love LeBron gets is a fucking joke. It is disgusting and the NBA should be put on blast by the media and exposed for how rigged it is.

It's ok, all the love in the world will not get the lebron cavaliers past the magic. They are just a better team.

Agreed. Outside of a miracle shot, Orlando should be up 3-0. I really think if Orlando goes back to Cleveland 3-1, they finish it in 5.

The officiating in the playoffs this year has been some of the most inconsistent that I can remember. The refs let Lebron's first goal tend go and called the 2nd. Mo Williams throws the ball at Dwight after the whistle in game 2 and it goes uncalled but Anthony Johnson gets a flagrant 1 for an inadvertent elbow going to the hoop (I think it's the first time I've seen someone get a flagrant 1 off an offensive foul)

It's not as bad as the Mavericks / Heat finals. yet.

How come you didn't mention Howard's clean block on the lebron 3 that fouled him out of the game?

Also, why can the refs check the cams for the reply to make sure it was a 3, and not notice it was a clean block? makes no sense.

Cuz if they could do that, then that call would've been changed to a clean block and no foul, BUT the refs had already called a stoppage of play due to the foul. So play should have continued, but since they called a stop, they can't magically go "ok, resume from when you blocked the ball". It wouldn't be fair to give Orlando the ball from out of bounds, because then the Cavs get to set up their defense, when Orlando could have taken advantage of scramble defense if they continued from the block. All in all, refs don't want to admit their mistake, and it makes for a less troublesome game and more flow.

Hope that made sense.

I've never seen refs take back a foul call. There must be some regulation for that.

Anybody else see the irony in Lakers fans complaining about superstars getting favored treatment from the zebras?

I really wish you'd watch a full season of Laker basketball and realize how many "star" calls Kobe DOES NOT receive. He gets hammered constantly with no whistles. It is a joke. However, it is his own damn fault. He whines so much to the refs, I'm sure they just turn their head.

Kobe whines like a bitch, yes.
Kobe getting a lot of calls?, not even close to as much as the other superstars.

He gets the ball more than anyone else on that team, so it's only fair to single him out. The top 5 players who get the most calls are Lebron, Wade ------- Dwight (although I think most are well-deserved), Chris Paul & Kevin Martin (same as Dwight; and he's obv not a superstar).

C'mon, Kobe gets his share of mystery calls, and non-calls. My point wasn't just about Kobe, though. How about Magic, Kareem and Shaq? The Lakers have benefited from sucky refs for 20 freak'n years.

I hate when Kobe whines and flails his arms around like a little kid and jumps up and down. It's ridiculous.

Agreed. I think that is why he doesn't get the calls that other superstars do get.

Kobe is definately on the bottom of the super star totem with regards to calls.

Kobe gets plenty of favorable calls [errr "no calls" for that matter]

I can't listen to Mark Jackson anymore. Kobe Bryant must have compromising pictures of Jackson. Jackson may as well wear a #24 Laker jersey during his games.

outside of a delonte west wide open missed 3, the cavs should be up 2-1.

no reason to talk about what didn't happen because it can always go both ways.

because they can't review foul calls. they can check on the next stoppage(which in this case was right then) to check and see whether or not a shot was a 2 or 3.

you can't complain about them not reviewing something that isn't reviewable.

It's sad when the ESPN play-by-play guy has to argue with Mark Jackson when an obvious foul is called against the Lakers.

Disagree, LeBron's shot had a much lower chance of going in than West, it is what it should be.

Again the Cavs can still win because Orlando is inconsistent, but they've been outdone in this early part.

disagree. of course west's shot was more likely to go in than lebron's. west is a better shooter and his was wide open. lebron isn't as good of a shooter as west and his shot was contested. but i don't see how that changes my point. the series could easily be 3-0 magic or 2-1 cavs right now, but it's not. it's 2-1 magic. and if you're going to talk about changing one shot in one game to change the result for a team, why not do the same in the other game?

So change two shots in your favor? LeBron was fortunate, you're saying West wasn't and said he should have made that. I don't see how that changes anything.

i'm saying there's no reason to change any shots.

if magic fans want to say they should be up 3-0, it's stupid because they just as easily could be down 2-1(and either option would happen just changing one shot).

west should have made his shot. doesn't matter because he didn't. lebron was fortunate to make his shot, but he made it so that's that.

refs were tech happy tonight on some bs........and that flagrant on bynum was absurd

I think that most superstars don't get as many calls as they seem to.

Heat fans would say something similar to what you just posted about Kobe. Shaq fans have said things like that for years and years. LeBron and Cavs fans would say that, too, I bet.

Ed O.

Yes you can.. you can complain about it not being reviewable, which I believe he was doing.
