Sources said the Nets are close to sending the backup guard to the Rockets in three-team trade that also includes the Lakers. This move could impact the Nets’ pursuit of Carmelo Anthony. The Nets will get a first-round pick from the Rockets and shooting guard Sasha Vujacic from the Lakers, who will receive Joe Smith from New Jersey. More could be involved.

Wow. terrence Williams for two first rounders. Granted, the Lakers' pick will be low. Houston, who knows, with the way they have been. Interesting he says it is to pursue Carmelo, who doesn't seem to want tyo extend there. Maybe extra picks, instead of Favors? So it's worth the chance to rent him andf see if he stays?

Good. I've got Terrence Williams (I just picked him up) in my fantasy league. Hope he gets to actually play now.

Next up: trade Murphy away from Avery Johnson. PLEASE!

Ed O.

whoah I had no idea Joe Smith was still in the league!

Terrence Williams!? They're dumping him for nothing? Jesus. I know he's a bit of a headcase but he's like a more athletic young Ron Artest (with passing skills). I actually think he's got a brighter future than Batum, if only because he clearly believes in himself. (That's if he stays in the league, of course...)

Terrence Williams thus far is a modern day Ricky Davis.

Williams can't shoot. He also has had attitude problems--although with Avery Johnson he's not alone in that regard.

His PER last year was nothing great (sub-12) and he's 23 years old, so he's not super-young.

I guess we'll see how he does when he gets a change of scenery...

Yeah, but we got all excited by Babbitt's numbers in the D-League, but look what Williams did. Plus, you know he can play defense.

AND he's from the Northwest, and grew up following Brandon Roy. AND he was tutored by Nate's old teammate GP before his draft.

lol. Why does everyone feel its important to surround Brandon with players we think he would want at this point? C'mon now, two years ago? Maybe. Now days? No.

Ok I will throw this out there for the fact that it is one of my better evil ideas. (At least in my evil opinon).

1. A large percentage of the fans believe Roy's contract is now a liability. Hell knowing how the fans are, they could be wrong. But say they aren't. So we need to get rid of it.

2. It is known Carmello doesn't want to play here, and will most likely leave if traded for.

So what if you offered Roy for Carmello? You offer Roy for Carmello with the plan of Carmello moving on, but really, your whole plan all along, was just to rid the team of Roy's contract. You don't give a shit if Carmello moves on. You cut your losses and move forward. Big contract taken care of. Western Conference opponent shafted with bad contract taken care of.

Move Mathews to starting SG and Batum to SF and start building the bench back up. Start looking for a good PG.

My guess is Denver says no to taking on a lot of money in return for Carmelo.

I'm still of the mind we don't need to dump Roy, so I wouldn't do it either.

What a crock of bullshit. I don't remember Terrence Williams ever throwing up a shot at the opponents hoop so he could get the rebound just so he could register a triple double. You have clearly forgotten how much of a fucking knucklehead that Ricky Davis was, and is to this day.

Cho still has to see different rotations Nate has up his sleeve before he can ponder a potential move.

It will be a while before we see him start Armon, Patty, Babbit, Dante and Marks. At least until Babbit gets back from the D league.

:ohno:

I don't think you know too much about Terrence Williams then. The guy was constantly tardy to practices, games and team functions in NJ that the team finally suspended him after they fined him multiple times. Then he got into it with Avery Johnson and they sent him down to the D-League on a team with a horrible 6-19 record.

You think the guys going to be a saving grace here?

The L*kers also received a $5.7MM trade exception. Fuck. That can bring them a hell of a player.

It will come back to bite them. There is no way you can make a trade like that without the proper evaluation process. Kupchak is an idiot for sure

I was thinking about this yesterday too. Tough to do with Roy's BYC status. If we really felt it necessary to get out from under Roy's contract, this deal could possibly be an option. Not that I'd expect to see anything like this from Status Cho, though. (I really like that newly proposed nickname!)

I still think we should go for Aaron Brooks. He would be an excellent addition.

A major trade netting us Brooks, Battier and Scola would be bad ass.
