One superstar, a former superstar, and a 6th man of the year winner and they are 4-19! In the EAST! What the fuck is wrong with them? Would the basketball experts here share their thoughts?
Their superstar is a great player but does not make the players around him better.
Their superstar is the only guy on the team getting more than 30 MPG.
That's a coach who has no idea who is on his team and a GM who hasn't interest in finding an identity for said roster. Total clown town among the supposed adults.
I think the plan is to tank this season and use the high draft pick and lots of cap space to start building a contending team. Given all the salary constraints, there isn't any better option.
I reserve my judgment on PJax as GM until we see him in a position to make serious deals.

I wanted no part of Phil in our front office when the discussion came up last year. We will see how his arrogance plays out. I am on record as saying....it won't end well.
Sources said the most tension exists between Anthony and Hardaway, as they haven't cared for each other almost since Hardaway joined the team last season, with each player believing the other shoots too much and doesn't care about defense .
Sounds like Freeland is the kind of player Melo would want on his team. I'd make that swapSo....who can we trade for Hardaway?
So....who can we trade for Hardaway?
I'd rather get a nice veteran with good playoff experience.
Anthony used another expletive in telling Hardaway he was going to beat him up when they got into the locker room after the game, according to sources.
Who is he supposed to make better? Jason Smith? Quincy Acy?
Their superstar is the only guy on the team getting more than 30 MPG.

I've never been a Melo fan, his 1-on-1, ball dominant style kills ball movement and offensive flow. And, then there's his lack of effort on the defensive end and his ridiculous contract...
You make a valid point.
I've never been a Melo fan, his 1-on-1, ball dominant style kills ball movement and offensive flow. And, then there's his lack of effort on the defensive end and his ridiculous contract, but they have much bigger problems. That roster is an absolute disaster. Outside of Melo and Amar'e, they don't have a single player with a PER above 14 and more players with -VORP than +VORP. What that basically means is they don't have a single player of average quality other than Melo and Amar'e (who are currently pulling down over $45 million in combined salary this season).
Amar'e is playing better than I expected this year, due to his age a injury history, but he's 5 years removed from his prime and a full six seasons removed from his Nash-fueled hay days in Phoenix. He's been efficient and consistent on offense, but unfortunately he's also been consistent on defense - consistently bad.
So, you have two above average offensive players who are below average on defense and not a single other player on the roster that can even be considered an average NBA player. The only good defender they have is Dalembert, and he's a complete zero on offense. In hindsight, it's surprising they've actually won 4 games with that roster. Sheesh, what a mess. Oh well, cheer up Knick fan(s), at least you managed to dump Raymond "Fat Ass" Felton.
