Context DOES matter... You've been getting mad thinking I called you fanboy when really... You just applied that term to yourself. The question is:

Do you think Rui will have a problem guarding Zion or not?

Because of you believe he will, then reading what I said above, the term fanboy wouldn't apply to you would it?

Not really. I've painted myself into a corner. I've said that Gonzaga is gonna get "ran in" by Duke.

Since I've said that in front of God and country, I HAVE to root for them.

And saying the Zags are gonna get beat isn't shit talking your team.

It's coming to a realization that Duke has The Hulk on theirs.

"A problem" is very suggestive. A problem when compared to the average defender? No. I problem in general? Zion is a problem. But I think Rui is better suited than pretty much anyone on the college level to guard Zion due to his blend of size, strength, and athleticism, as well as playing in a sound defensive structure that provides proper help.

You know I'm not a biased fanboy, based off how I post in here. I'm also not getting mad about anything, even though it may come across that way.

It's okay to be wrong. Literally everyone thinks that (Gonzaga doesn't get respect from most college basketball fans, just like the Blazers with NBA fans).

For me its nota lack of respect for zaga, as much as I think Coach K is a huge freaking cheater and has maybe the top 3 picks in the draft...

More top recruits should come to Gonzaga... kinda sad that they dont. They're like the Blazers in that respect. Yet recently, theyve developed many unknown players into NBA caliber players (Olynyk, Collins, Hachimura, Tillie, Norvell).

I agree flat out basketball I think Few teaches his players how to play basketball at a higher level than Most of the “blue blood” schools at this point.

The age restriction being lifted would be huge for Gonzaga, as well as any possible punishment to big time programs due to the scandal.

True story, I briefly met Mark Few and John Stockton refereeing his daughter in Spokane at a CanAm Referee camp I went to. There's a post in here of me telling the story.

I've always respected the Zags.

But... I stand by my word...

Most pundits, scouting reports, and Gonzaga fans note Rui as at least a solid defender. You're o ne of the few that don't think so, but that's fine. His tools match up better against Zion than most people though

I have a fairly passionate dislike for Bookers game so I may be a bad judge, but they’re pretty close in terms of college level ability.

That Kentucky team had much more depth though. They also played in a weak SEC, while Duke plays in a loaded ACC.

It's still not a very strong conference overall. But I can see why Mark Few and Randy Bennett like coaching in it. No traditional football powers on campus that you have to compete with, small but decent media markets to build a fan base.... And as long as you win your tough non-conference dates, you don't have to worry about surprise contender stealing your thunder. The WCC is never going to be judged against any super conference like the SEC, the Big 10 or ACC. The Pac-12 on the other hand is going to be seen for more of it's shortcomings when compared to other conferences and past accomplishments. If I were a coach trying to establish myself as a winner I would pick the WCC not the PAC-12. At least not while that moron Larry Scott is still commissioner.

I recently broke my no gambling for money rule on my last trip to Vegas. I don't plan on doing that again. I'll bet pushups tho.
 
So Zaga has to win tonight to have a chance to play Duke tomorrow. If that doesnt happen, we’ll have to wait til March if were lucky.
 
Holy hell Gonzaga is getting screwed by these refs... My goodness. Arizona with 20 Free Throws and counting in the first half... So many BS ticky-tack calls.
