Outlaw/Harris coming to Portland?

Moreso than the GO pick fail, and the Roy contract fail, KP's handling of RLEC was his most egregious mistake in my mind.

KP was pulled off of the Roy negotiations. Not sure how that contract was his fault. Plus, Oden fail? Were you clamoring for Durant prior to that draft? Link up your BBF posts, and I'll believe you.

Speaking of being leery of pursuing players with injury concerts -- CHRIS PAUL! He's still a top-10 PG but doesn't look like the elite CP3 of a few years ago.

Feb. 4 successful arthroscopic surgery on his left knee by the infamous Dr. James Andrews. However Andrews removed the torn meniscus , he did not repair it.

I was fully behind KP in those moves. I wanted GO. I vehemently supported giving Roy the max. But they're obviously fails in hindsight.

GOLDEN TICKET FAIL!

KP never called it a golden ticket. I proved this years ago. Canzona called it a golden ticket, not KP, and I've posted the quotes.

Another Blazer Board fail.

It would be nice if you guys could be factual in your criticisms, but that's too much to expect, isn't it?

Most moves are fails in hindsight. Only one team wins a title each year. I'm just happy to watch an injury-depleted team in playoff contention.

I was posting the article for Fez, not to prove anything.

Whether the rumor was false or not, whether KP should've done it or not, doesn't matter to me now. If we can use hindsight for it I think that trade would've made Portland better then and now, and give us more ammunition (how'd the #3 pick in the 2010 look for us right now, with NJN's 2012 (protected) coming up) for the future. But that's another thread.

That looks even cooler all italicized like that in your quote!

Thanks!

I don't really care who called what what. It will always be the Golden Ticket in my heart.

He didn't look like the elite CP3 tonight, but for the season he's putting up a superstar PER and he's a pretty decent defender. He's not merely top-ten, he's the best point guard in the NBA IMO. But he does have some potential injury concerns.

Fair enough. Your reply was in reference to RLEC not being used, so I mentioned that actual fact behind the "Golden Ticket".

You've been CANZANOED!

Could the Blazers get Harris and still keep Miller for a couple years; i'm not sure why NJ would want Miller unless they had Anthony for sure.

He looks....different. Yes his efficiency numbers are gaudy as ever, but he's not the same aggressive player on the court he's been the past few years.

Paul has a lot of disappointing games, at least the ones I watch.

Losing Miller would hurt...but just for this season.
I predict that Miller will last a lot longer as a good player than everyone thinks.

Travis Outlaw?

What if I think he'll be "good" for four more years, based on his style of play?

His team is doing pretty well. I don't think he's worried about how you perceive his aggressiveness :)

You're right, he's got other things to worry about. His team is going nowhere, and he probably knows it. :)

I hope he knows it and pushes for a trade. To Portland.

He's two years removed from his MVP-level PER of 30. Now, he's "just" a 25, and with bone-on-bone in one knee. Is that worth a max extension? 23 PER last year, 25 this year, injury issues...

Now listen. I don't want to look down on you or disrespect you or anything but this is very simple:
Miller for Harris - an OK trade, not even a good trade and definitely not a great trade.
Miller and Rudy for Harris and whoever - the worse trade I remember in Blazer history and I've been a fan since '92.

You can be Anti-Rudy or even Anti-Spain or whatever Anti you want to be. You trade Rudy and I'm done with this team and done with this forum. It'll prove to me that you and management both have shit-for-eyes and know nothing about basketball. It's that simple.
You can give me whatever excuse you want, that Roy is coming back, even tell me that Roy is 100% healthy. You DON'T trade Rudy and I don't care what's the reasoning. There are VERY few players in the league I would trade Rudy for and Harris ISN'T one of them, not even if you take Miller out of the deal and trade just Rudy for Harris. There are VERY, VERY few players in the league that are more valuable than Rudy. Devin Harris, with all the very little respect I can give you after reading some of the comments in this trade, is not worth this trade!
I'm not even saying he isn't a good player. He could be a good player. He's no Michael Jordan and he's not Chris Paul and not even Carmello Anthony! You want to trade someone for him? you don't believe Armon can be the PGOTF (another proof that you know nothing about basketball, IMHO)? Trade the 1st pick in the draft that has been sitting behind the bench in a suit for the past 3 years. DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT even Think of advocating this trade, because this is plain BS! If Rudy leaves this team it'll be because HE decides to leave. If you trade him for this shit of a trade, I don't think just this season is over. I think that's a bad enough trade to put a curse on the team for decades.
I like the Blazers, I even LOVE the Blazers but I don't want to be associated with a team of Losers or a team that is run by losers. You make a decision that looks right and it turns out to be the wrong decision, well, that's life. You're trading Andre Miller AND Rudy for Devin Harris - You're plain stupid. It would break my heart but I would become a former-Blazer4ever and find myself another team or an entirely different interest. Shooting yourself in the foot is something I don't like doing, if someone else shot me in the foot at least there'll be someone to blame. I don't shoot myself in the foot for anyone. You make this trade, you might as well include me as filler. I'm moving with Rudy to NJ. I don't care, I've never even been to Portland. I like this team and I am called 4ever but I can't anymore if managemet or my fellow-fans don't at least give me hope that they know what they're doing.

Fucking Devin Harris! He could be the new Messiah and I wouldn't make such a dumb trade! How do you think we're winning all these games? by accident? Do you think Aldridge is playing alone? Well, I would like to introduce you to your New-Portland Nets... The neighbour's grass is always greener, they say, but man, this is really something...

Yeah, I mentioned that there are injury concerns in my first post about Paul in this thread. But when his "bad" season is a 23 PER, that's an amazing player. 25 PER is basically superstar level and he plays pretty good defense. How often do you come across point guards who both offer superstar production and defense? Derrick Rose's name is being tossed around in MVP talks and he has a 22.8 PER and plays sub-par defense. And Paul is still pretty young. Even with the injury issues, I think he's worth a max contract. There's risk, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Not that I really believe Portland can get him, but I think it would be awesome if they could. Paul has made the game easier for guys like West and Chandler. Imagine him playing with Aldridge. Not to mention the happy dream of a healthy(-ish) Oden.

He'd probably have to be a major piece in any package Cho can put together for Chris Paul.

According to who, Batum?

According to me, though certainly not based on an extensive number of games. I've also read that in a couple of articles about the Bulls this year.

Plus Batum said so.

I don't know dude... the Zach Randolph trade was pretty bad. The Jermaine O'Neal trade was pretty bad. The Drexler trade pretty much sucked.

Not hot on either Harris or Outlaw. I hope nothing gets done this deadline because I like how the team is playing. Messing around with it doesn't seem like a good idea, especially for meh talent like Harris & Outlaw.
