Phil knight offers to buy blazers

it can go both ways really

from phil knights side, it makes sense to keep it private, cause they dont want anyone else to bid

from jody allens side, she might want it leaked in order to get someone else to bid in a hurry and therefore sell it to the highest bidder

I doubt there will be a lot of bids. I also doubt Mr. Knight cares if there were. He just wants to see Portland get a viable owner that keeps them here. If someone else comes in that is a better option, I bet he would be ok with that.

As for Jody, I doubt she cares about jacking up the price. She just doesn't want to get lowballed. And she wants to see the team stay in Portland too.

Smolinsky doesn’t have a problem opening up the pocket book as he has with the Dodgers having the highest payroll. So he wouldn’t mind going heavy into the lux tax i would think. An owner hungry to win

Please make this happen ASAP --- when i saw this i thought i was asleep and dreaming cause I never saw this coming .

All i can say is both sides DO NOT SCREW this up and make it happen NOW !!!

An LA owner.

"Portland is considered one of the league's smaller media market teams but has a long history of rabid fan support and regular-season and playoff success. Forbes valued the Trail Blazers at $2.05 billion in its 2021 rankings, making it the 13th most valuable franchise in the NBA."

Where does this leave @BLAZINGGIANTS and @UncleCliffy'sDaddy and the like?

The Dodgers still suck.

(But I'm good with any ownership group that includes Uncle Phil, and let's face it..... the Dodgers got 99 problems, but spending money ain't one - even if they haven't been able to buy a World Series*.)

They moved the Dodgers from Brooklyn to LA. Moving the Blazers from Portland seems like small potatoes, in comparison.

Obviously didn't notice the "*". 2020 WS don't mean shit, especially after they choked away how many other real opportunities.
who cares, they go deep into the playoffs every year. And they spend like mad. That's all you can ask for from an ownership group after the shitshow we've seen the past three years.

The Dodgers have been in the World Series 3 of the last 5 seasons. and won it in 2020.

If the Dodgers world series win "don't mean shit" then what does the last 45 years of the Blazers mean?

I mean, I think we can all agree that it's been a rather long and disappointing 45 years, no?

Judging by most of you here, it's been practically unbearable.

I don’t know if I trust this info but canzano came out with an article today that Kirk Brown, another billionaire, could be a part of this group. Brown also want to be apart of WNBA, and with rumor that Portland could be getting a team, that would make sense

Dude, you read my first response to prunetang's inquiry because you quoted and responded. I think you should go back and re-read it. I'm literally saying I'm good with the idea of spending and trying to be competitive, even if it's Dodger money. We're literally saying the same thing.
