I'm not sure where you would get that idea. I have known and worked with this man for years. He is quite possibly the most upstanding individual i have ever met. Seriously this guy is pure as driven snow. There are absolutely no chinks in that armor. He absolutely will not sell out. Works his ass off.
Well remind him he owes John John $20 for a summer of lawn mowing back in the summer of ‘84!!!!!

You got a United States senator and the founder of the biggest sports brand wanting the Blazers sold to Phil Knight. Adam Silver is definitely going to make this happen eventually…

Seriously? If there is validity to this at all he will remember. That guy remembers people better than anyone I have met. It’s kind of why he is a good politician. Steel trap of a memory.

Does he remember when he stole Super Dave Osbornes face!?!?

Dear god no! I also don't want Trump, Biden or W Bush buying the team. No politicians please!
why not?

btw, Phil Knight has donated millions $ to oregon republican candidates in this midterm. not often brought up. all these rich dudes are involved in politics; not sure why it's so concerning if a former politician wants to delve in professional sports.

I’m not answering that other than to say I don’t want ANY politician current or former involved in any way with the team. You’re entitled to your opinion and so am I. Cheers.

Not often brought up? I've seen it mentioned all over the place.

I would be just fine with Obama owning a portion of the Blazers. Actually Portland could use some positive publicity.

And it would totally expose even more racist cowards

I hope they find an alternative to Knight.

Hell No! Phil Knight and Phil Knight only. His son is only 49 years old born and raised here and would definitely I assume atleast get the team when his pops passes away. I think it’s known he’s close to his son. Blazers would essentially be in Portland for the next 30-40 years Atleast

Yep. As I said, Wyden could be a great guy. Sleazeball was probably a bit much. But, on a very important issue a decade or so ago, many people felt Wyden and Merkley rolled over on something. Merkley responded to the inquiry in a classy way. Wyden never did. It happens but it pissed a lot of people off.

Damn dude, you gotta learn to let things go, almost a decade ago and you're still upset he didn't change the kitty litter that week? Sheesh man. Let. It. Go.

NBA Forbes list just came out. Blazers worth 2.1B about what Phil Knight offered.

Also I noticed that Milwaukee and Portland are the most expensive small/mid market teams outside of the obvious big top 10 markets Forbes listed

I just think having Phil for a little while and then his family owning the team would be huge. His son Travis owns a Portland based animation studio/production company and is a three time Oscar nominee for best animated feature film. The fact that he still operates out of Portland instead of being in Hollywood says a lot about this family's dedication to this area. They would invest in the team and city in ways we haven't seen before. It would be a Portland family owning the team and I don't think the importance of that can be overstated.

The Bucks valuation came at $3.5 Billion dollars

I see why Jody flatly rejected Phil’s offer of a little over $2B that was reported. Granted Bucks have a brand new arena and a recent championship but as a similar small market, shows you Blazers are worth much more than what Knight offered

A new arena and title contention is probably worth an extra $1 Billion...

For comparison:

• Milwaukee #35 DMA (895k TV homes) 17.4k avg attendance, 5yo Arena lease thru 2048.

• Portland #25 DMA (1.14m TV homes) 18.6k avg attendance, 27yo Arena lease thru 2025.

Selling before the new TV money kicks in is lowballing....Jody knows that...she'll easily get 4 billion after the new deal....also she owns Moda which most franchises don't include in their franchise assets.

Why didn’t the Bucks co-owner wait for the new tv deal? He just sold this past week
