How do you see the series playing out?

You know what sucks? We may win the series but the way we played tonight shows me we don't have what it takes to win in the second round. So why bother beating the Pelicans?
 
Man! It will be a long three days till gametime. Yes! this game sucked, and was a nightmare, but in NO WAY< are the Blazers toast, and it is ignorant to say such. It's on the Blazers to make the adjustments, and get back to playing Blazers basketball. Dame & CO. ain't crawling under a rock and surrendering. Congrats to the Pels on a quality effort. Time to regroup, and go get game 2. Go Blazers!!

Gee that's the spirit!

I actually feel the exact opposite. If they can somehow get out of this 1st round matchup they can play loose since no one expects them to win anyway. They are much better as an underdog in the Dame era.

C'mon Man! You're better than that ignorant comment. Every matchup is different. And I know Dame can take over at anytime. He's that good.

Would've been fun to WIN and then make adjustments for Game 2. If we had stolen that win tonight, we'd be in such a great place right now. 1-0 with room to grow.
 
Dame doesn't dare attack Davis. He tried 2-3 times tonight, and it didn't go well.

I know most of y'all are irrational toward Meyers, but I'd find 10-15 minutes a game for Meyers & Collins to play together. Pull Davis out of the lane with the 3pt threat & let Dame drive.

On defense, you put Collins on Davis & let Meyers take Miriic.

Dame also needs to take advantage of the time when Davis is on the bench. Drive, drive, drive
 
That was an absolutely trash effort from Dame too.
Some people saying he played alright - go back and watch the effort on defense.
His lack of willingness to drive to create a scoring opportunity or assist - also hurt. Too busy jacking the hero shot.

Really poor leadership and BBIQ all around for the Blazers this game.
 
Just got home, long crazy day. Watching the Timbers game and am about to partake in one of my favorite things after a loss......read the game thread. This one ought to be a doozy. Just ledge jumpin and suicide watch left and right......and then watch as soon as we made a run everybody is talking about a sweep to the finals again.....then whomp whomp whomp, some will freak out about Meyers going in the game. I’m sure 2 or 300 posts are about how the refs have it out for us or Scott’s should be fired. Well, here we go.....I’m still sticking with my Blazers in 6 prediction. #RipCity

Meyers being in the game and not doing what hes primarily in there for is a reason why 200-300 messages are about Stotts.

And no, there wasnt a lot of ref bashing. We shot ourselves in the foot, not the refs.

Only ref bashing occurred in the 1st quarter when two really weak calls got called against us. That’s it. There is however a lot of stotts bashing. I don’t want him fired but he wasn’t great tonight, I will say that.

Eh, They had two of the same for NOLA, so it evened out.

I just do not get the last two plays at all. Makes no sense. With timeouts? Sure. Without? No.
 
Tater Totts is a giant turd of a coach who had no clue how to run an effective offense. Gentry had a clear plan of attack and had his team ready to execute. If it hadn’t have been for a few spirited minutes of play, that had nothing to do with coaching and was entirely the product of effort, this was an absolute blowout. I can’t fathom how anybody can think Terry is a good coach.
 
Man, unfortunate loss. I feel like we lose this in five or six, honestly. AD >> Lillard (Not a slight at Dame, AD is just that good), and Jrue > CJ. And I don't think we make up for it with any other match-ups in our favor. Nurk is irrelevant in this series, and Aminu and ET are both negatives unless they can hit the three, and neither of them has been able to in awhile. I think our best chance is Hark coming back Tuesday at near 100%. If he doesn't, I'd guess that we are heading to NO down 0-2.

I really hope I'm wrong, but this team just didn't look like it belonged on the same floor as the Pelicans for most of that game. Lillard was awful. CJ was awful. Aminu, Nurk, Turner, etc. All pretty bad. We were outplayed at every position. Hopefully Dame and the team come out and make me look dumb, but it felt like we were lucky to not lose by 20.

Still rooting for the Blazers, though! Hoping they prove me wrong and get the Gentleman's sweep!

I haven't read through the threads yet, but I think, ultimately, it boils down to the respective team stars. Holliday and AD brought it, Dame and CJ did not. I was actually pleased with the rest of our team. Thought everyone 3-10 contributed something. That's all we can really expect, since we don't have a 3rd guy on this team who can take over like CJ or Dame.

It's commonly said the post season is a different game altogether, because everyone elevates their focus, intensity. I was curious if our Blazers, specifically Dame and CJ, have that necessary additional gear in them. For one game, anyway, nope. I'm not sure what adjustments we can make, because we're not built to work through other guys. Dame and CJ stir the drink. And we can't radically tweak the rotation, because 3-10 work best in rhythm. We've seen what taking Harkless and Davis out did to that rhythm. Just very fragile in that regard. Maybe getting Harkless back will restore that some. I do think Collins will be given more minutes as the series goes on, as I think he matches up best to Davis. Other than that, we just gotta pray Dame and CJ can find a way to elevate their games or this one will be over quickly. Hats off to the Pelicans, though, they're a well rounded club.
 
We are down 3 with 14sec or something and after timeout we make a play for Leonard?? Somebody is fucking with us. Seriously Terry, what the fuck?
