Hate to be the bearer of bad news but.....

Not really surprised. He was lumbering in the 4th quarter, could barely move.

And yet he was still more useful than any other player on the team besides Dame/CJ. Funny how a guy on one leg is better than 90 million in combined salary. Really makes you think.

I won't disagree with that, but it is pretty to easy to play good defense on the Blazers. Ramp up the focus on Dame and CJ and make them kick it out to one of our non shooters who are wide open, which they were a lot. Defending us really isnt hard to do.
Completely agree. In those moments we fall apart.

I think our game plan was good tonight. We just don't have the ability to take it to another level when golden state steps up the defensive pressure and starts firing on all cylinders.
We need another true scorer. But where to get one?

The only ones that will be somewhat available are Melo (likely wouldn't want to come here), Crawford, Gay, and Gallo.

Replacing Turner with Crabbe makes some sense on offense (don't need a third play-maker, necessarily, and another shooter might free up the paint for drives by Lillard/McCollum) but it would weaken the defense a lot. Everything has significant trade-offs.

Gallo would be nice, but isn't he considered injury prone somewhat? If so than Portland is where his career goes to die.

Even if one was available and wanted to come here, I don't know how we get them. Going to be interesting to see if NO stays pot committed with the players he signed or if he will try to cut bait. My guess, we have the same roster plus some rookies.

your guess depresses me lol. pray for rookies that pan out.

Not because Neil decides to keep the same roster, but because no one wants to get near the mess of contracts that is our team.

Lillard/McCollum/Nurkic is a nice core. Harkless is an okay role-player. That's pretty much it for the good news. If the rest of the garbage on the roster were cheap, that would be fine. The problem is that the rest of the garbage pretty much precludes adding more solid (non-star) pieces around the core. Olshey will have to draft like a demon.

Sigh...Crabbe and Harkless have potential to be moved, but Meyers and Turner will be in our future for a long time...

Meyers will be movable when the team's true window opens up in three years. If Kaman joins the team and works with him, maybe two years.

This may look like a joke, but... this could possibly improve our team without having to lose much.

Yes. This is a inequality that really is too much to overcome. You go across the river and the Timbers can remake their lineup in a single offseason. That type of growth is impossible for the Blazers. I don't see it hurtjng this genwrath on of fans. But man it will the next one!

Harkless 1 point 1 rebound 1 assist. Making 40 million over next four years. At least he got that 500k though.

Crabbe 6 points 3 rebounds 5 fouls. Making 74 million over the four years.

Meyers Leonard 0 minutes played. Making 11 mil/year.

Javale McGee 16 minutes 14 points 5 rebounds. Making 1.4 million dollars this year.

Patrick McCaw rookie 2nd round draft pick 11 points 5 rebounds 5 assists 3 steals.

Ian Clark 2013 undrafted GS signee; huge game 1 with 14 pts and shooting well over 50% for series.

Say what you want about the stars, and I'm well aware veterans like Zaza, West, etc came to GS to win a ring. McGee was the difference maker the last two games, and McCaw is the only reason we weren't up 25 at half time tonight.

Neil Olshey is a fucking clown.

As much as he drives me mad, Aminu is a good role player for how much he is paid. Davis too if he doesn't get fat like he did this year.

But after that, it ain't pretty....

Half my glass is filled with "Summer league is going to be great with Layman, and our draft picks."

The other half is filled with "Iggy scored more tonight than Crabbe has the whole series"

In reality I wish it were full of whiskey.
