My Game Thoughts:
- Coach Stotts FINALLY made an adjustment and inserted Meyers Leonard into the rotation. Because he is a threat from the perimeter, Marc Gasol has to respect his range and was constantly pulled out of the middle of the paint, which opened things up for Lillard and McCollum. The only question is: Was it too little, too late?
- More impressive than his offense was Meyers' defense. He was isolated on the low block all game long against one of the best centers in the NBA and more than held his own. Portland didn't have to send the double and Meyers was able to play with poise and stay out of foul trouble.
- We still take way too many terrible shots, especially early in the shot clock. If we want any chance at winning Game 5, then we must work for better looks.
- Go to the fucking basket, LaMarcus. I really want to sign him back this summer, but his jump shots drive me fucking insane.
- No more Steve Blake. He's been awful on both ends of the court this entire series.
- CJ is the real deal. He's getting buckets off the dribble, from deep, and everywhere in between.
- Meyers and CJ's emergence has really opened up the defense for Lillard to operate. Tonight was vintage Dame. I went nuts when he converted the 4-point play.
- Will we ever get LA and Dame on the same page this series? If we want to win Game 5, I think that's got to happen.
- I'm thankful we didn't get swept, but I'm still nervous that it took a comeback performance int he 4th to beat a Memphis team without their floor general.
- I'd like to go to Afflalo down low against Lee early on to start Game 5 to see if we can get him going. We'll need more from he and Lopez if we want to send this baby back to Portland for game 6!
- GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE.
