OB, don't alienate the one person that's had your back through all your stuff.

Its not even about the subject matter and more about some of these dudes posting style. The ones that demand me.to give props yet can never criticize. You'll understand when I explain it to you on Saturday. So for now, stop.

One thing is for certain. If you watch the game again look at the way Kanter is shooting and trying to rebound. There is no question he is playing with essentially one arm.
The Nuggets know this and when he comes down with a rebound they immediately go after a slap or steal. Sometimes snatching the ball right out of his hands.
If you have ever had a bad shoulder (I have had one many times) you know you lose the strength to press inwards clamping together.
The Nuggets are taking advantage of that. They could not do that to Meyers.
That's what I was seeing also; should he even be playing?

when I first got up this morning I was thinking of some long ago series between celtics and lakers and it seems each team blew the other out in a game. So I thought its no big deal, we can still win this series. then as I read this thread today I remembered we are not one of those legendary teams and I got very apprehensive. That probably means we will win Thursday! :)

Our series has been one of the most popular in the playoffs...I'd say the league wants a game 7 in this matchup...Denver won 2 in a row...we need to do the same.

So far trhe trend is...
They win one, we win two in a row. They win two in a row and now... we win three, right?

WCF here we come!

People seem to be satisfied with just getting to the second round.
Tell that to the homecrowd at the Moda….I don't buy it...people are excited at winning against top western conf competition...we've won 6 playoff games and still have a game Thursday...too late to tank

No question they are picking on his weakness.
Funny thing they give Meyers a Flag 1 for a basketball play that was a bit rough yes but it was in the context of the game.
But Jokic can take a sucker shot at Kanter's shoulder and it goes unpunished even after being shown multiple times.

Good news guys. The league just reviewed the tape of tonight's game, and confirmed that it only counts as one loss. Whew.
Hahaha. That's what I told my girlfriend last nigh during 3rd quarter. Whether we lose by 3 or 30, it only counts as one loss. That's about the time I was begging Stotts to rest Dame. I still can't believe he waited until 3 minutes left to clear the bench.

He gave it a last gasp at a run and it wasn't happening...I don't understand why Meyers isn't getting half of Kanter's minutes at this point.
So you're saying Stotts is an idiot....

Hilarious. Now jonesy is arguing with one of his buddies.

:smiley-violence:

Sigh... If Bones and I actually had a real issue, I would just text him and we would talk about it and work it out in person.

Nice try in trying to create drama though. And your addition to the thread in this post was very relevant. Good Job on the contribution!!!!!

Lillard didn't even play in the 4th and the bench played pretty much all of the 4th. Even Simons came in with more than 5 minutes to go.

Are you serious? We've gone from back to back first round sweeps to just 2 wins from the WCF. If that isn't significant, what is? WCF? And if we lose WCF, is it same old same old, just like 2000? Never MIND the fact that we've been playing these playoffs without Nurkic. As far as getting out of the first round, the 2014 team was a completely different team and the 2016 team won against a depleted Clippers team. This team has shown MASSIVE growth this season. Another series winning a shot, a gutty quadruple overtime win, as I said, TWO WINS from the fucking WCF. This is the first Blazers team that has won 6 playoff games since 2000. And before 1999, we lost in the first round 6 straight times. This is enjoyable. We are improving. I don't think we need to make wholesale changes to get better. It's happening internally and with smart pickups during the season by Olshey. Some people....

It's the closet the Blazers will get. Who knows what the roster will look like next year? We probably won't get to see this team make another run together. Two of three playoffs he has been here Nurkic has had a broken leg. Will he survive next season? The Blazers have the easiest path to the WCF's they have had. They likely won't get such a path again. It sucks that the year they decide to do something in the playoffs Nurkic is out and Kanter has one arm. The Nuggets are made to appear far better than they are and will get all the credit. They will be touted as a team of the future. One of the NBA's new darlings. The Blazers meanwhile will have gained no more respect than they get now. They will be treated with the same disrespect next year. As not good enough, never good enough.

People seem to be satisfied with just getting to the second round.... but we have been to the second round 3 times in the last 6 years. It's not that huge of an accomplishment for us.

Exactly

They don't get the respect of being good enough, until they win. Look where Denver came from they were a lottery team and all year no one really believed they were going anywhere even as the racked up wins. Then everyone said oh that's a weak bracket because Denver was in it. Denver's not gotten a ton of respect either. Blazers don't deserve respect as a legit contender until they prove they are. I think they get disrespected when people say they aren't a playoff team, but saying their a good team that's not quite there is a proper amount of respect... But hey maybe they go win the next 2 and get to the WCF, that'll get them some respect.

If the Blazers somehow get to the WCF's they won't be respected anymore than they are now. It will still be 24/7 how good the GSW/Hou are. Blazers will never get the respect they deserve. It's just the way it is.

Stop with the eulogies!
We aint dead...yet.

Only for quitters. For me, it was one loss.

Quitter? No. I have been a Blazers fan for decades of anguish. I will be a fan for many decades more of it.

Sad but true.

Enough drama...this game was just a bump in the road in a good series where the number 2 seed has the edge on the number 3 seed....we win the next two and everybody will be gushing again...Go Blazers! Stotts does not make anybody miss wide open shots or free throws...I like the guy. We're just down 3-2 and need two in a row. I'll stand by this franchise, roster and coaching staff anyday in a stacked western conf.....Denver is just fucking good and deep...they're a tough out..good for them. we face elimination...that will tell the story. Lose this series and it's nothing to be ashamed of..I like our chances
We will not win the next two games. I would bet all my money this is not going to happen. Unfortunately i still attend college so i dont have much money xD

no, it's not...our bench is better, our starters defense is better..Nurk is better...Jake is better...I'm not watering it down...last year was Bazz, Ed and Patty C...this season it's Seth, Hood and Kanter….don't know how you compare those rosters

ok...probably...but you just named 3 guys that might not be back next season; 4 if you count Layman

Yep
28 point game at the start of the fourth.
Leonard, Collins, Turner, Hood, and Curry
At 9:17 of the fourth Denver put Jokic and Murray back in.
The score was down to 96-76 and the Second unit was rolling.
The second unit had enough to keep up with Denver when Jokic and Murray were on the floor but they could not continue to cut into the lead.
If they would have cut it down to 15 or 14 you can bet you would have seen Lillard get back into that game as well as CJ. Who also did not play the fourth.

Layman isn't back only by the Blazers choosing. Layman doesn't have a choice in the matter unless he wants to sit out a year and kill any chance of an NBA career.
