It all depends on how you define "could."
It would take the combination of a monumental collapse on our part and a historic run on their part to close a 6 game gap with only 12 games to go.

I was surprised our magic number stayed at 8 after last night. I thought for sure we would win and thought Phoenix could lose. Looks like Phoenix can still catch us.

If the Suns beat us head-to-head, on our floor.....it may be time to start scoping out high bridges.

What I like is that we only have to go 5 and 5 for the rest of the season to end with 50 wins. That is impressive, given the youth on this roster and where I thought we would be in our arc of development. A 50 win season is nothing to laugh about, and we should surpass that, unless we play below par basketball for the remaining 10 games. Technically, you could call that par.....but it would be below our seasonal average.

On second thought, below par in golf is a good thing, and I meant it as a negative thing....so um....you get my point. I don't feel like changing it up..hehe... Let's just say it has been a good night.

I have no problem if Utah does lose. I am just looking at getting a playoff spot locked up.

Alright, we got the magic number to 4! I am hoping after we beat Utah on Tuesday that number goes to 3. I don't think Phoenix is going to lose to Sacramento tomorrow.

What a choke job by Barnes. 24 seconds left (up by two) he gets the inbound pass and he panicks and throws it back to the inbound passer under the basket. Why? They had to foul him! WTF was he thinking?

Magic number drops to 3. It's a matter of guessing what game we'll clinch a playoff birth, not if we will....

Yup! Always try to make it to the last one at least!

I wonder how many days it'll be after that until the first playoff game?

I looked back at last years 2007 - 08 teams. Looks like the teams start the playoffs on the Saturday (april 19) when a teams last game is Wednesday (april 16).
So the blazers play the Nuggets april 15 and play again on april 18 of this year!
