What would we have to add to get Adams and Schroder from OKC for Whiteside and Baze?

Funny stuff!

“Alright, we’ll give you a choice. You can either have Mario Hezonja or... this horse.”

“We’ll take the horse.”

what horse can we trade Hezonja for?

Man an Iggy and Brooks package would be so perfect and worth a protected first.

I wonder what Olshey is waiting for. Maybe he wants to see the team play with Nurk? Although idk how getting him back solves our issues on the wing. Seems like he should have a bigger sense of urgency. At least get Burks. I doubt the warriors would hesitate to trade him if they had an opportunity to dump him without taking money back.

Burks can be had for 2nd rounder probably.

I don't think Memphis would give up Iggy and Brooks for a protected first. They are supposed to ask for a first (even a protected) just for Iggy and Brooks has been solid this season.

If I had to guess I'd imagine Olshey is waiting for a trade like this in which we get 2 players for less (or about the same) than the amount going out of 1 player (assuming Bazemore in your scenario). That way he could add depth and fill a roster spot without adding tax to a below .500 team. If they did a trade like this that got them about the minimum less in return then they could go get someone with the 2nd roster spot essentially adding 3 players for 1 without changing the tax situation.

I don't like giving up a 1st in your trade simply because both Iggy and Brooks (restricted) are free agents and I don't like the idea of giving up a 1st for two players that might not be on the team next year when they'd be over the cap without good trade contracts and limited options to make the team a contender. I've defended the Afflalo trade but the results of this one could end up similar.

Josh Jackson & Melton should be the targets from Memphis

What on Earth are you basing this on? Miles ahead?

Eye test, but because many will say give me stats advanced stats show he is way ahead as well. He has been really good this season while Simons has basically sucked. Judging by actual play and not potential.

Blake Griffin Bombing in Detroit (not in the good way)

Might fans and analysts hoping the Blazers can pull off a trade for the great power forward take pause?

“Teams are playing straight up,” Casey said. “He’s not shooting the ball well; that’s the bottom line and it’s no fault of anybody’s.

“Players go through that, but out of that, I think he’s a good facilitator. He can pass the ball out of there. There are things he can do to help us win.”

It’s not good when the coach is saying the team’s best player can help by being a decoy.

And the Pistons are faced with the prospect that this is the new normal for Griffin, who is owed $75.5 million for the next two seasons

on first glance, all that means is that the Blazers sahouldn't trade for Griffin. But sorry BGD, this does not mean they should default to a Kevin Love trade

Trail Blazers trades: CJ / Whiteside / Zach
Chicago trades: Otto Porter Jr., Zach Lavine, and Thad Young.

Some predictable Laker drama with Kuzma on twitter or some shit regarding Lebron. CJ for Kuzma.
Funny thing about all that is someone should tell Kuzma's trainer to get Kuzma in the lab because he's lightyears behind both lol.

Isn't that too much? I think they would take expiring contracts right now for Porter and Young. Porter injured a lot and with a too big contract. And Young hardly plays, two and a half years left.

I mean, sure. I’d do that. I’m not sure it really moves the needle much, but Bamba is intriguing to me.
Two 40%+ 3pt shooters that can do a bit off the dribble, and one who's big enough to play the 4 and defends well?

I like the ceiling of that plus Bamba. Obviously theres injury concerns there but in the case that it doesnt pan out, we have a $27M epxiring (Porter) and a $17M expiring (Fournier) to trade next seasonz and we'd have all our future picks (2021 and on) and 4 good prospects to attach (Simons, Collins, Little, Bamba). So thats a high reward, low risk option.

Baze and a pick for Rose and Snell. Saves Detroit nearly $20M, assuming Snell picks up his option...a safe assumption. We get a wing that can drill threes, and Rose to run the second unit and take the pressure off Simons.

Then trade for Burks

Dame
CJ
Snell
Melo
Nurkic

Rose
Simons
Burks
Skal until Collins returns
Whiteside

Not bad. Personally, I'd only be willing to trade a 1st if what we get back helps us contend this year, or if it gives us a long-term, legitimate starting forward.

I've thought about the Otto Porter situation and I don't see why they should get only expirings. They have never been able to sign someone good in FA and there is nobody good anyway in 2020 FA. So the extra space won't be of any use really. If I was their GM I would just try keep him healthy and see what he can do next year as he has the potential to be a very good player, he just isn't able to stay healthy the last 12 months.
