Zach and Simons for Harrell would work. maybe before the injury to Zach they may have given some thought to that I dont know. Thanks for the civil response....
If Harrell was at any point available there would've been multiple threads addressing it and figuring out how we can enter the conversation much like Iggy and Love.it was a rumor......a civil response hoop would be...."Sorry, I didn't read that rumor"..it was the first time I'd heard the guy's name so I looked him up then...didn't give it much thought until I saw him play. With this, I"ll leave you to your own takes and remove myself from the conversation…..I'm sure you've read all the rumors this season about Blazers gm moves....I know I haven't
I like Bridges, but he seems kinda similar to Nas to me, not sure you agree with that, but Id like to see Nas get a chance before the deadline before we get some one who in my mind is similar. What we need to do is find the next Harrell type. Someone who is being undervalued and not used correctly on their current team. Between trades and two open roster spots (once the injury exception goes through) making moves equal to the Kanter and Hood additions of last year is the only way to still be in the mix this year. It's certainly possible but very difficult to do.
One guy that could fit that mold is Mikal Bridges. His minutes on Phoenix are down 9 minutes a game this year from 29.5 to 20.6. He's an above average perimeter defender but so far has struggled shooting the 3 point shot in the NBA. I think his mechanics are solid though and he shoots well on 2 point shots and is a good free throw shooter so I think he could still get on track shooting the 3. It's gonna be near impossible to match Hood's efficiency so far this year but I think he would be a good fit in the current starting lineup getting that Hood/Harkless type role.
They are similar on defense, I don't think their offensive game is similar at all. Mikal I see more as a 2/3 type and Little a 3/4 type. So far I don't think Nas has played much at all at the 3 so I don't have very high hopes for Stotts putting him there. If Mikal is like Nas though wouldn't it be good to have two of those guys on the floor?I like Bridges, but he seems kinda similar to Nas to me, not sure you agree with that, but Id like to see Nas get a chance before the deadline before we get some one who in my mind is similar.
I guess I didnt mean similar positions as much as sort of similar skillsets, very good athletes, good defenders, a lot of work needs done on offense, Nas is probably a better rebounder and Bridges is a little better on the perimeter. Im not sure I understand your last line, about if their similar they should play together, because honestly Id probably say no to that two guys who havent been consistent on offense sounds a lot like Moe / Aminu, though I think Bridges has a more refined offensive game than Moe or Aminu did at his age. They are similar on defense, I don't think their offensive game is similar at all. Doesnt seem to be a very clear path to getting Harrell, and I kinda doubt he’s available. Went to the Trade Machine and didnt find a lot that worked.
Love Harrell’s game though.
Definitely. I doubt were the only ones thinking wow Harrell’s really good! Heh.Harrel is an animal and a rare breed. Would love to have a player like him coming off the bench, but pretty sure the Clips like him a lot as well. lol
I meant like we need more energy on the court at times.I guess I didnt mean similar positions as much as sort of similar skillsets, very good athletes, good defenders, a lot of work needs done on offense, Nas is probably a better rebounder and Bridges is a little better on the perimeter. Yeah, when Collins went down I really wanted them to sign Faried. He would've been a decent fit especially considering their huge rebounding problem earlier in the season. Usually when guys sign in China they can't play in the NBA until the Chinese season ends so unless he has a clause written into his contract that he could leave for the NBA at any time I think he's stuck there until early March when their season ends.Everyone is talking about Harrell, after he smoked us. I've always wanted Faried. I guess he's in China now. Just by my eyeballs, but it always seemed like that dude would beat us up; and spank our ass. Tons of energy. Nas reminds me of Faried. Again, I have no stats on him. He just seems like a dude that would fit, and help massively....
This is kind of how I feel right now too...I've been endlessly optimistic throughout this rough start to the season...but this Rodney thing might've knocked the wind out of me (hopefully temporarily)...
Do we actually think Olshey is going to or should make a trade between December 15th and the trade deadline? (Zero sarcasm or tone here. I literally have no idea what to expect.)

This season is crazy. Dame and crew are talking championship and literally everything broke (no pun intended) the wrong way and now we are struggling more than ever under the Dame era. This is kind of how I feel right now too...
The problem with not making trades is that even allowing Bazemore and Whiteside to walk this off season and assuming now that Hood would pick up his player option that leaves the Blazers with at most about $12 million in cap space in kind of a down free agent summer. So unless you think either of those two guys are a vital part of this team's future then you almost have to trade both of them this year IF we're looking at things from a wanting to contend point of view. If the view changes to being more financially responsible as a priority then I guess I could see that scenario where they just let those guys walk or re-sign them for cheap if possible. As far as building the best possible team around Dame I think they have to try and get some other long term solutions out of those two.I've been endlessly optimistic throughout this rough start to the season...but this Rodney thing might've knocked the wind out of me (hopefully temporarily)...

Yikes, why would the Blazers do that?I wonder if Chicago would consider Baze+Trent+2nd for Young+Dunn
Thad Young is a good player (having a down year but is that because he is bad or because he’s playing behind young guys? I’ll take the latter) versatile, we need frontcourt help immensely, his contract is decent too.Yikes, why would the Blazers do that?
I think the market for Centers is down enough the Blazers could maybe keep WS going forward and I would think a Nurk / WS combo would be one of the best tandems at C in the NBA.The problem with not making trades is that even allowing Bazemore and Whiteside to walk this off season and assuming now that Hood would pick up his player option that leaves the Blazers with at most about $12 million in cap space in kind of a down free agent summer. It will be interesting to see how Jody Allen reacts to the team falling short of expectations this year. Did she get a taste of winning last year and is willing to pay to get that again or does her mindset change to screw this I'm not paying for this crap? I know this doesn't really answer your question but it's tough to know after one season of her ownership when so many things went well how she'll react to shit hitting the fan.
This is strictly a guess but I doubt this organization is just gonna give up on the season so I think there will be trades to salvage things. I just hope those moves don't sacrifice future seasons just to make a playoff push this year.
Young is exclusively a PF though. Trading away two wings and losing Hood who is going to play SF? Melo or Young would be awful if they were forced to play SF at this point in their careers. I'd argue that Young's contract is pretty bad too. To me adding another PG does nothing if they aren't a play making point guard.Thad Young is a good player (having a down year but is that because he is bad or because he’s playing behind young guys? Dunn would at least give us another actual PG too.
While you are totally correct about the center market being down, especially for a player like Whiteside, I just don't see any scenario where both of those guys are content with having to share center duties every game. Neither of them can play even spot minutes at the PF so you're basically going into the season saying neither will play more than 24 minutes a game.I think the market for Centers is down enough the Blazers could maybe keep WS going forward and I would think a Nurk / WS combo would be one of the best tandems at C in the NBA.
Nurkic might be more ok with that after his leg snapped then before. I love Nurk, but I think its pretty important they find someone capable of starting if Nurk has injury problems going forward. Im not sure Whiteside would be willing to do that though. While you are totally correct about the center market being down, especially for a player like Whiteside, I just don't see any scenario where both of those guys are content with having to share center duties every game. I've said it before, but I've wanted us to get Whiteside since 2016. We finally got him. Finally, and now, so many people want to trade him off. Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but I think we're still in this. Why not? Collins/Anthony/Whiteside/Nurk, is a nasty lineup. IF, they come back healthy. Keeping Whiteside??? We'd probably have to luck into a Hood type deal. It is possible though. Happy, positive thoughts here!!!While you are totally correct about the center market being down, especially for a player like Whiteside, I just don't see any scenario where both of those guys are content with having to share center duties every game. Well the difference is that we had a starting SF spot open and Hood knew he would get plenty of minutes. If Nurk is healthy it's a little different situation for Whiteside. Kanter didn't take the Hood deal and ended up getting less from Boston. I would love for you to be right about Whiteside but I think he thinks of himself as a star, much like Kanter did so I'm not sure if he'd have the same mindset Hood did even if it is the best fit for him.I've said it before, but I've wanted us to get Whiteside since 2016.
