Jones seems like a solid choice for #34 if he lasts that long

Jared McCain: CJ with a smile? A lot of playoff teams are going to hope that he falls to them because I see him carving out a long career as a rotation player. If he falls past Sacramento (his hometown) at 13 I will be very surprised, especially as they might be about to lose Malik Monk. And he could easily displace Kevin Huerter even if they don't.

I know we've only just moved on from CJ, but I wouldn't cry if we took him at 14. Everything about him screams class, and if we're building a team of good character guys...

I think it's suspicious he worked out alone. Sounds like something an agent insists on. Play against somebody you coward!

I have a rule of thumb: better a player whose stats DECLINED in their last year of college than one whose stats took a sudden leap. Michael Finley and Karl Malone are examples of the first. (I make exceptions if the player has experienced a huge growth spurt.)

I'm going to bet that the kid from Creighton ends up being the same player in the NBA and will be available much later in the draft.

I'll take the guy with a lot better rebounding %!

knecht can get to any spot he wants to on the floor. and spacing will only help him.

in any other draft, i would scoff at the notion of drafting a 23 yr old with the #7 pick. in this one, i wouldn't mind.
I’m torn between him and Williams. I think Knecht would instantly work with Scoot.

Agreed. People aren't factoring in Knecht's off ball movement because he was the primary guy for Tennessee. He gets to his spots and also creates opportunities when a play breaks down. Watching the film it doesn't look like Knecht needs the ball to be effective.

I guess we will see when and If they bring other wings in by themselves. Maybe the Blazers want to see how they all do in the exact same environment. Otherwise who you bring in to compete against them will vary greatly.

I really don't know the answer, but I'm wondering if it's pretty common for potential lottery picks to give private workouts. Portland-OKC-San Antonio-Washington DC-Houston-Charlotte-Memphis-Chicago-Detroit....if a prospect is working out for most teams, that's a lot of travel in a few weeks, and the scheduling would be challenging. Even more challenging if the workout had to be coordinated with other prospects, including non-lottery picks

the 7th pick will be signing a 4-year/32M rookie scale deal (yes, I know the last 2 years aren't guaranteed, but it's rare they don't collect). That's a lot of money to risk by working out with over-eager 2nd round prospects

This not-so-secret secret workout for Clingan is hilarious. Even Casey is playing dumb about it while still mentioning it.

Very obvious that the team is feigning interest but doing a terrible job of hiding it.

How did they manage to pull that off? Thought agents wanted to shield their guys by forcing solo workouts.
