ESPN Gamecast had all of the stats throughout the game. I wonder why they can't just copy what they had from there. The stat system broke down. The stat board in the arena didn't change after the first quarter.
Sounds like the title of a Disney Channel show.Yeah, I've had enough of Pat and Jake.
Meyers was fine. His play was a relief, frankly. He'll make a fine backup some day.I didn't think Meyers played bad though. He challenged shots, boxed out, hit his open jumpers....though he did through two bad interceptions.
Yep. Collins is a lot more quick and agile than Meyers. Combined with the fact Collins both knows how to play basketball and has good basketball instincts, two things Meyers has lacked thus far, and Collins will definitely pass Meyers. The thing is, I still maintain that Collins is a PF, while Meyers is a Center. I could easily see them on the court together.Collins already looks much better than Leonard, especially defensively. Which is funny to say about a guy who should be a sophmore in college, but the game comes natually to him, whereas Meyers is still a bit awkward out there.
Nurk, Collins and Davis are looking like the top 3 big men right now. I think Swanigan, Meyers and Vonleh will battle for the other spot. Meyers will probably only play when Stotts decides he wants his PF to shoot 3s.
NoJason Quick thinks they both would be better suited backing up Nurkic at Center.
and Collins showing this already at age 19 after being a backup at Gonzaga!Yep. Collins is a lot more quick and agile than Meyers. He did playI know Morrow didnt play, but I think he's gonna be huge for us when the real season starts
Yeah. I think he's going to develop faster than I initially thought.and Collins showing this already at age 19 after being a backup at Gonzaga!

That boxscore says Biggie scored 18 points in 4 minutes...From the boxscore: https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/phoenix-suns-portland-trail-blazers-2017100322/
The players that were +5 or better were...
Dame, CJ, Harkless, Collins, Nurk
Hmmmmm, looks like a starting lineup to me!
White Towers! White Towers!

Yes, I think Harkless is much more effective when playing with Nurkic; whereas with Turner, Nurkic, Lillard, McCollum, it's just too complicated.Harkless is a better fit with the starters than Turner

Nobody talked about Fox.....I know it was a preseason game, but damn he scored at will.
You're upset that we're not talking about a Kings rookie in a Blazers-Suns game thread?Nobody talked about Fox.....I know it was a preseason game, but damn he scored at will.
God damn it. I meant Jackson...... all night while he was scoring and I was labeling his plays Jax....... as I posted it auto corrected to Fox! You know who I meant ass faces! You're upset that we're not talking about a Kings rookie in a Blazers-Suns game thread?
What's that you like to say? F#$%outtaherewithat FAMS!!
Ed Davis played fantastic. Should have watched. So, not gonna read through this thread, but did everybody meltdown?
After checking the (meaningless) box score, I see that our two rookies both had much better showings, in fewer minutes, than Ed Davis. Ditto for Harkless over Turner. I'm tellin' ya - Ed Davis is a 10th man on a contender, and Turner is an Eastern Conference Kid. Neither belong in our rotation, and especially not in the starting line-up.
Ed Davis played fantastic. Should have watched.
I can't be bothered to care about - let alone spend time watching - preseason. But, if Ed played so fantastically it seems odd that his stat line didn't show anything meaningful and his +/- was the worst of the entire team. I think it's much more likely that Ed played about as well as Ed can play, but it just isn't very good. I mean, Meyers, Collins, and Biggie all scored more on equal or better shooting, rebounded at roughly the same rate, and all ended up with much better +/-. That's two rookies and MEYERS LEONARD who all had better box scores!Ed Davis played fantastic. Should have watched.
