I'm just saying, offensively, Turner & Davis is awful. One of them in the starting line-up is too many, but both of them in the starting line-up would be like throwing a wrench in the gears of the Dame/CJ/Nurk machine.

So it pretty much sounds like you want Vonleh or a rookie to start at Power Forward. Just seems Aminu doesn't help offensively and Harkless can play offense but just goes AWOL at times.

What does Vonleh do that's so much better than Davis? Not things he could theoretically do better, but things he's been trusted to do.

Also, no team changes how they defend a Turner three from a Harkless three, and Turner is the more dynamic player.
 
I find this thread to be very confusing.

But really, it's been far too long. I look forward to seeing Collins and Swanigan get some minutes hopefully, and I look forward to the laugh I will certainly enjoy when I look and see how much food and drink prices went up from last year.
 
Briscoe throws his name in the MVP conversation tonight imho.
 
Terry Stotts said starters will play around 20 minutes in the preseason opener while they will give plenty of time on the floor to rookies and those guys who are battling for a roster spot.

You're going to want to be on the bandwagon early when he blows up this year.

I have to agree on Turner. He simply doesn't disappear like Moe.
 
I imagine that Turner is only starting because Harkless is out. If he's healthy Moe will start at the 3 when the games matter. I'm not sure about the Ed thing though. Seems kind of odd to me. I could see him filling in as a starter due to injury, but not with another non-floor spacer at the 3. The flow offense is going to turn into a trickle.

With that said, it's just the first preseason game. It's just a warm up. And I'm just fucking excited to see Blazers basketball.

Nice.

Bender vs Collins should be fun. Very similar physical profiles. Bender is the more fluid shooter and passer but Zach is more aggressive and has the better defensive instincts. And wouldn't be surprised to see Josh Jackson (if he starts tonight) defending CJ. Will be a good test for the rook.
 
Not surprised to see Davis starting.
From the small amount of footage we've seen - it looks like we may be getting the Ed from two years ago - and he is an excellent effort/garbage man type player, perfectly capable of most everything that Vonleh can bring+ score more consistently.

Can't discount the 'Wessy' warrior type x-factor that Ed has and influences the team with.
Looking for a bounce back season for Phys Ed !
