Politics Project 2025/Agenda 47/Behind the Curtain: Trump allies pre-screen loyalists for unprecedented power

Like a rock festival, but more subdued. It was like 1/10th of woodstock ‘99 lol. Even the videos you posted make it look lame and don’t do you guys’ spooky narrative justice. After all the lies about multiple deaths, etc. have been debunked, all you guys have left to preach about is the supposed intent. The idea that a bunch of meandering boomers “breached” (were let in) the capitol to “overtake democracy”. All the right wing gun owners came to overthrow the most powerful government in the history of mankind but they all forgot their guns at home.
The fact the entire event was crawling with FBI instigators doesn’t help your case either.

Man, this post makes me want to go all Julius on it.

Uhh no. Ill believe what the reports say. You know, the facts?

I'm sorry to hear you've been in a coma the past 4 years. Must be frustrating trying to learn about everything that happened while you were asleep?

Nice deferral, trying to make it about personal beliefs instead of sticking with the facts.
Very typical around here. Let our feelz override facts.

I have a feeling you wNt to believe what you wNt to fit a narrative instead sticking with the facts. Hell you just proved it.
I love when you ask someone for some facts and they respond like this….its so productive for individuals to gain a better understanding… not.

its responses like this that have the right laughing at the left…

If you want me to research the landholdings of the Bulgarian prime minister, I'd be happy to. But January 6th is something everyone here should already know the facts on.
And it wouldn't be hard for you to research it if you did just wake up from a coma.

Barfo, your copouts are epic. I commend you.
If everyone should know the details of the injuries to the 174 officers, then why cant you just list them, or some of them? After all, everyone should know right?
But instead you say i must be in a coma?
and you are captain copout.
Cool.
What a waste of time responding to you….
one day ill learn to just ignore you….

I doubt it.

Anyway, the situation is that you have some point you want to make about the injuries. So make it. You are absolutely right, facts matter. So make your argument and back it up with facts. Don't be asking me to back up your argument.

Everyone (with the possible exception of you?) has seen the videos of the riot. If you want to die on the 'it was just a rock concert with no music' hill, be my guest.

There's two ways to go about it. jonnyboy has demonstrated one - just assert your claims and refuse to back them up. That's the easiest route, although it doesn't tend to convince anyone.

The other way is present evidence. And yes, the burden is on you to do that. You are the one complaining that republicans are being unfairly blamed. You know, the 'jaded narrative'...

what? Again you have facts incorrect. Someone else, you? Said 174 cops were injured in the riots. Not me. I asked what type of injuries.
And now you say its up to me to provide facts to back my claim?

Get the F out with your twisting of the conversation. Lol. Rofl.

Here are the simplified facts.

you said you agree, no one was “killed”. But then claimed 174 cops were injured.

I asked you what type of injuries.

You told me I must have been in a coma to not know.

I again asked you for facts

Then claim i am the one who needs to bring facts to my claim?

WTH kind of twisted thought process do you have bro?

Officers’ Injuries, Including Concussions, Show Scope of Violence at Capitol Riot

One officer lost the tip of his right index finger. Others were smashed in the head with baseball bats, flag poles and pipes. Another lost consciousness after rioters used a metal barrier to push her into stairs as they tried to reach the Capitol steps during the assault on Jan. 6.

“We don’t have to hurt you — why are you standing in our way?” one rioter told the officer as he helped her to her feet, according to court documents. She tried to regroup, but blacked out while making an arrest hours later. Doctors determined she had a concussion.

A little more than a month after the Capitol siege, a fuller picture of the injuries sustained by the police has emerged from court documents, footage revealed at former President Donald J. Trump’s impeachment trial, accounts provided by officers and interviews with law enforcement officials and experts.

The Capitol assault resulted in one of the worst days of injuries for law enforcement in the United States since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. About 140 officers — 73 from the Capitol Police and 65 from the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington — were injured, the departments have said. They ranged from bruises and lacerations to more serious damage such as concussions, rib fractures, burns and even a mild heart attack.

...

“If you’re a cop and get into a fight, it may last five minutes, but these guys were in battle for four to five hours,” said Chuck Wexler, the executive director of the Police Executive Research Forum, a nonprofit that advises departments across the country on management and tactics.

“You would be hard-pressed to find another day in history like this,” he said, “when the police encountered this level of violence in one event.”

The horror of the siege — which officers have described as “medieval” because of brute hand-to-hand combat and the use of blunt objects as weapons — received renewed attention this week at Mr. Trump’s impeachment trial. House managers repeatedly raised the injuries as they revealed new video and audio to argue that Mr. Trump incited his supporters to overrun the Capitol while lawmakers were certifying his election loss.

At the trial on Thursday, Mr. Cicilline listed a litany of injuries that laid out the effects of the siege on officers: concussions, irritated lungs and injuries caused by repeated blows from bats, poles and clubs.

“Capitol Police officers also sustained injuries that will be with them for the rest of their lives,” he said.

Washington police officers who had served in Iraq said that the Capitol riot “was scarier to them than their time in combat,” Mr. Cicilline said, quoting Chief Robert J. Contee III of the Metropolitan Police.

Mr. Cicilline then played clips of rioters shouting to officers in the Capitol: “Fight for Trump! Fight for Trump! Traitor, traitors, traitors!”

...

“A majority are bruises and sprains, but one officer had a mild heart attack after he was hit with a stun gun several times and had to be pulled out of the crowd,” Mr. Burke said. “Others had laser pointers to the eyes, which can cause long-term damage.”

Estimates vary on the number of rioters who surrounded or entered the Capitol on Jan. 6, but a review of footage shows that at least thousands swarmed the building. In addition to the blunt objects, some were armed with stun guns, bear spray and plastic handcuffs.

At one point, one rioter took a fire extinguisher and slammed it on the ground. A loud explosive boom rang out, and white powder from the extinguisher filled the air.

...

About 170 of the roughly 1,200 Capitol Police officers on duty at the time of the attack were equipped with riot gear. Few other officers had gas masks or other protective equipment.

Some without helmets sustained brain injuries, one officer had two cracked ribs, two shattered spinal discs, and another was stabbed with a metal fence stake, said Gus Papathanasiou, the chairman of the Capitol Police Union.

No, you speculated that maybe they were just the type of injuries one might get at a concert. If that's what you are interested in, then you can certainly present evidence along those lines if you want to. It's not my thesis. It's fine to ask me, but I'm not obligated to do your research for you.

If you want backup on what I claimed about the number of injuries, it's here. Other sources do have other numbers.

Jaded narrative that many have about all republicans/conservatives.

curious what the details of those injuries are. Have you seen the reports, would they be many of the same type of injuries one might get from attending an overcrowded rock festival and getting sardine canned for two hours?
Or were they hits and kicks to the bodies of the officers?

to me, there is a huge difference.

here you go again spinning the truth.. im literrally starting to think there is a cognitive issue. I never speculated. I asked a question and presented two types of potential injury circumstances and said there is a huge difference. I didn't speculate shit my man. Its right up above..
I even said in one of my first comments that what happened was disgusting.
Why must you be so damn judgmental and presumptuous that you presume I have some speculation going on? I speak straight forward. You speak in riddles.
I simplyasked you a direct, comparative question….

Thanks for proving my point again and again!
my lord….
Twisting the truth into whatever you want it to be, so you can be right and i can be wrong… worthless conversation.
Stick with comedy. you are funny.

I think comparing the violence that day to a concert is pretty twisted.

my last comment about body armor was joke. Probably should have used green font. Lol.
Thanks for posting the details. I never said the injuries were of one type or another. I simply asked of which two types they were and noted there is a huge difference.
I would say history has a couple of rock concerts that hit this level of violence, but it’s by far not the norm.

Project 2025 being implemented piecemeal in Republican controlled states.
Ban all abortion.
Ban transgender health care.
Book bans that include jail for teachers or librarians so extreme Idaho libraries no longer allow minors.
Child labor. Arkansas and Missouri now allow minors to work with no limit on hours, no lunch breaks, in hazardous jobs and overnight shifts.
Replacing public education with Christian schools is more easily accomplished by using existing school infrastructure and redoing it. Oklahoma now requires every grade level to include Christian indoctrination and distribution of Christian bible to every student.
In numerous states the education has been put in hands of people who proudly proclaim they have no academic training like Praeger "university" which is not a university. Florida fired the board of small liberal arts college and replaced them with DeSantis allies who have no academic qualifications. They got rid of courses on social issues, arts, and LGBTQ studies. They strive to change student body by offering athletic scholarships, more than major Division I schools, although they do not participate in intercollegiate athletics.
Prohibiting teaching about race or racism in school. Florida requires teaching how slavery benefited enslaved people. Praeger "university" has an anime Frederick Douglass defending slavery, which the real Douglass never did.

But some things can only be done nationally. Ban climate initiatives. Limit gathering data on climate change. Using justice department to prosecute Trump's personal enemies. Explicitly calls for prosecution of Pennsylvania officials for certifying 2020 election results. For prosecuting Bidens (Joe and Hunter). End National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration which tracks storms.

That's only a tiny part of the 900 page program for a Christian fascist America.
