I was locked out of the " Pro Lifer" thread. Posts deleted by barfo and locked out by Sly.
What post do you think was the reason for Locking me out out that thread?

Technically speaking, I deleted one sentence from one post.

Do you suppose it might have been the thing that you said the mods would probably delete? Could that have been it?

barfo

No, I don't thinks so. According to Sly it was the threat or the veiled threat I made to you. Did you get it?

BTW I didn't actually expect anyone to delete the damn thing.

Shouldn't have dared me to, then. You know how pirates are.

I expect this is a window into how it is when you have representatives that are not accountable to you in anyway.

Hey @barfo! Put and s in question in the tile if you can.
Thank you.

Can we lock this thread. Why do we need yet another thread with marzy whining about the mods and being deleted.

You can hardly post without throwing an insult. Not to mention you wave off the actions of 911 hijackers as get'ner done? What the hell man. And then you play victim. Come on Marz

I think we should make an additional OT forum and label it Snowflake. It will be the biggliest safespace on the internet, a great beautiful place where we can all go and just say nice things about eachother to make everyone feel happy. Perhaps once a month everyone who posts can even get a participation award.

I can understand the frustration of having posts edited, or deleted, or censored. It's not a public domain though, it's private and therefore those who are in charge can edit, delete, or censor what they feel like.
I don't know why you were locked from that thread, nor can I claim to know what goes through Barfo's mind when he makes decisions.

Sly locked him from the thread. Barfo merely deleted an insult.

So yesterday, as I'm sure many of you did I woke up, powered down a big breakfast and coffee and the preceeded to tackle many of the seasonal related choirs and projects that need to get done before the long months of rain start. At around 3pm I suddenly had a dizzy spell. Never had one of those before, only lasted about a minute, slowed down a little but continued to work. By 5pm I was continually dizzy, a bit disoriented, sweaty, headache, and my left arm was completely numb. It was at that point I decided to drive myself to the hospital. Yes, I know, I shouldn't have driven, lol. Anyway, those symptoms could mean anything from a heart attack to a stroke. I was rushed right in. I normally have pretty much perfect blood pressure but at the hospital my pressure was through the roof and my EKG was abnormal. After a battery of tests, from lab work, to chest x-rays, CT scan, yadda yadda...

Long story short, severe dehydration led to a heart arrhythmia.

Well fuck, I'm an idiot. I'm always very good about staying hydrated during the summer but it didn't even cross my mind to drink water during a normal fall day.

Anyway, I was released from the hospital a little before 11pm feeling a bit better, normal blood pressure, normal heart rhythm, and normal labs but still with a pretty good headache and still a little dizzy.

No I didn't drive home, lol.

To go through my first major health scare only to find out it was self inflicted was both humbling and depressing.

I'm not telling you this to garner sympathy only to give a clear understanding of what happened next.

The first thing I did when I got home was...

Sit down in my office and log into the forum and check on things. I will check the moderator action logs as a quick and easy to see if there are any fires that need putting out or anything that needs to be done that the moderators aren't able to take care of. Usually this is pretty much limited to banning a few "buy cheap jerseys" from Chinese ad trolls but I saw some moderator actions taken by Barfo. Now this is unusual, Barfo doesn't swing his mod club around much. So while Mrs PokerDog is understandably scolding me to get off the computer after today's health adventure I decide to dizzily investigate.

End of part 1.

(Stay tuned for the exciting part 2, it might be a little delayed, some other forum related things are piling up as I write this, lol)

Man that stuff can be scary. Glad all is well. I'll stop posting for the afternoon so I stop starting crap and you can get on with part 2! :)

Dang, Sly, that's terrible! Word to the wise, for certain!

At any rate, we don't want some watered down version of part 2.

Get off the forum and get some fresh air. This cesspool can't be good for your heart.

And here I was giving myself hardship medals for having to sit on a plane yesterday. Glad you survived.

The moral of this story is, don't do chores.

Part 2:

Much of this is a mix of personal opinions and admin opinions, I try to draw a pretty clear line between them but because of past and current accusations made I think it's important to share.

Anyways....

I see this thread - http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/to-our-pro-lifers.349526/

Now this is not a criticism of the person who made the thread and it's not against forum rules but personally, I do not like threads like this. In fact I think they're kinda bullshit. It's not a thread to create discussion and debate about certain topics but to call members of the forum out. It is my experience that threads like this always lead to very little discussion and more arguments and personal insults. Again, this is not a criticism of the person who made the thread and they are not responsible for the actions and posts of others but I just wish people wouldn't make threads like that and instead frame them to create discussion and debate about subject(s) that are important to them.

Here is the post that barfo edited.

Barfo edited out the personal insult but I decided to also delete the entire post for the following reasons:

1. "Golly I have to do it." Is an admission that while he knows it's against forum rules he's going to throw out a personal insult.

2. "tight ass mods will delete it." And again, he knows it's against the rules but lets double down on the stupidity and insult the staff. (As I've said many times before, you can insult me all you want but please, the staff here works hard, they're volunteers, and I will always have their backs. Going out of your way to insult them especially when you know what you're doing isn't allowed isn't going to end well for you.)

3. "but it just has to be said." Again, if you know it's wrong why do it? And more importantly why get upset when you know it's wrong and you know action will be taken?

Then I deleted this post:

UCESFLq.png

Now, why did I delete this post?

Because as he clearly stated in his original post he clearly knew it was wrong. What does it matter which mod deleted it? Wrong is wrong. As I've clearly shown in these posts I do monitor what our staff does and I have yet to see any of them abuse their mod powers. I've yet to see any of them edit or delete a post because it goes against their personal beliefs or opinions and if I did I would call them on it. Don't start going after staff for actions you knew they were going to take.

....

This is the post that made me decide to ban MarAzul from that particular thread and in an immediate private conversation with him is why I told him I viewed it as a veiled threat.

Hey Barfo....it appears you fly alot, I can relate with that. Mind me asking what you do?

I'm on the edge of my seat @SlyPokerDog. Sorry to hear about your health scare. I hope you are feeling better. Dogs are supposed to drink lots of water. Did someone forget to fill your bowl?

I started the thread and genuinely wanted to hear the answers. They never came. I have had conversations with people about this and nobody seems to be able to explain it. Was the title what made you upset?

Yep! I didn't know the pirate @barfo deleted or edited post. I had invited him to the MarAzul once, to see if I could get to know the guy. Now that he is editing my posts, I thought perhaps I could get to know him if I went to the M&G.
I had up to that point decided not to go, but I did then reconsider.
Then here comes Sly. Sorry you had a shitty day Sly.
I now know, I will not go the M&G.
Have no fears.
