Notice Question for the forum?

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

I started the thread and genuinely wanted to hear the answers. They never came. I have had conversations with people about this and nobody seems to be able to explain it. Was the title what made you upset?

Let me be clear, you did nothing wrong but from past experience I could pretty much tell that because of the way you phrased your post you were not going to get the answers you were seeking and the thread was going to require a lot of attention from staff. I was never upset.

Part 3
Oh whoa is me says the sick dog

Then the dog drank and drank and drank

.. but the sickly dog kept on getting dizzier and dizzier.

oops says the sickly dog when he realized he’d been drinking Breakside Double IPA’s all day long.

Good to hear things are ok sly !

Part 3: Return of the Dogi

When we last left off Darth MarAzul was threatening the Rebel meeting....

Okay, enough kidding around.

Both in this forum and with me privately MarAzul has expressed multiple times a desire to show up and confront members he politically disagrees with.

This is not acceptable.

And while he is not directly threatening members he is threatening to disrupt an official Blazer sanctioned event.

I feel there is no other way to view that but as a threat. He first stated this desire before any Meet and Greets or other forum events were scheduled.

He's not showing up to discuss the Blazers, basketball, or listen to our guest but instead to confront members about their political views expressed in the Off Topic section.

Ridiculous.

Never before has anyone done such a thing. I don't even get why someone would even think such a thing muchless post that they were going to.

"You know, this really has nothing to do with me but dammit, it should. I need to make this about me and my opinions!"

I really just don't get it.

And since he decided to make this thread about our private conversation I see no reason not to post it.

Again, coming to a forum event to confront someone is a threat to disrupt the event and is not acceptable. It doesn't matter how old you are, how long you've been a citizen or what color of flowing hair you have.

I have previously had that great honor and privilege of dining with MarAzul, being invited to his home, meeting his wife, son, and grandson, and being given a tour of his beautiful sailboat early in its build. To say that I have great respect for MarAzul is an understatement. But because I have such respect for him, the wonderful life he has created for himself and his family, and some of the many accomplishments he has achieved means that if he says he wants to confront and disrupt a forum event it would stupid on my part not to take this man seriously.

The fact that only the third voice in the 50 years of the Blazers has made their first official public interaction with fans to be with our forum is a huge honor for the passionate and knowledgeable fans that post here and a testament to the many years of hard work first started by @ABM and continued by myself.

Then add the fact that he has heard so many good things about us that without ever meeting us he comfortable enough to bring his wife and kid with him is humbling and says just what a special group we are.

For the sake of that and for future forum events I can not have someone showing up whose stated purpose is to confront people and disrupt this event.

@MarAzul I see above that you have said you are not going to attend. Thank you. That truly allows me to focus on making this a fun and successful event for those who want to come instead of focusing on how to prevent it from becoming something else.

The End

For now

So yesterday, as I'm sure many of you did I woke up, powered down a big breakfast and coffee and the preceeded to tackle many of the seasonal related choirs and projects that need to get done before the long months of rain start. At around 3pm I suddenly had a dizzy spell. Never had one of those before, only lasted about a minute, slowed down a little but continued to work. By 5pm I was continually dizzy, a bit disoriented, sweaty, headache, and my left arm was completely numb. It was at that point I decided to drive myself to the hospital. Yes, I know, I shouldn't have driven, lol. Anyway, those symptoms could mean anything from a heart attack to a stroke. I was rushed right in. I normally have pretty much perfect blood pressure but at the hospital my pressure was through the roof and my EKG was abnormal. After a battery of tests, from lab work, to chest x-rays, CT scan, yadda yadda...

Long story short, severe dehydration led to a heart arrhythmia.

Well fuck, I'm an idiot. I'm always very good about staying hydrated during the summer but it didn't even cross my mind to drink water during a normal fall day.

Anyway, I was released from the hospital a little before 11pm feeling a bit better, normal blood pressure, normal heart rhythm, and normal labs but still with a pretty good headache and still a little dizzy.

No I didn't drive home, lol.

To go through my first major health scare only to find out it was self inflicted was both humbling and depressing.

I'm not telling you this to garner sympathy only to give a clear understanding of what happened next.

The first thing I did when I got home was...

Sit down in my office and log into the forum and check on things. I will check the moderator action logs as a quick and easy to see if there are any fires that need putting out or anything that needs to be done that the moderators aren't able to take care of. Usually this is pretty much limited to banning a few "buy cheap jerseys" from Chinese ad trolls but I saw some moderator actions taken by Barfo. Now this is unusual, Barfo doesn't swing his mod club around much. So while Mrs PokerDog is understandably scolding me to get off the computer after today's health adventure I decide to dizzily investigate.

End of part 1.

(Stay tuned for the exciting part 2, it might be a little delayed, some other forum related things are piling up as I write this, lol)
Get better first before tackling that crap, buddy.

I was locked out of the " Pro Lifer" thread. Posts deleted by barfo and locked out by Sly.
What post do you think was the reason for Locking me out out that thread?

Whichever post had a conservative view.

It's what Dems do when they're losing the argument.

Which is always.

Wait, you sing in a choir? :dunno:

This is the post that made me decide to ban MarAzul from that particular thread and in an immediate private conversation with him is why I told him I viewed it as a veiled threat.

!

Absurd.

No possible way to construe this post as a threat. NO POSSIBLE WAY.

Marz and I were considering going to the MG. I have been to a couple in my time and certainly was not banned for inquiring who else was going.

wow. just read this glad you are better!

@MarAzul I see above that you have said you are not going to attend. Thank you.

You're welcome.
Odd take you have on my interest in Basketball. I have followed the Blazers since day one. By that I mean, I attended their very first practice, Score keeper for their first scrimmage, attended their first preseason game, first regular season game.

Easy your fear, I had no intention of making anyone fearful. Quite surprised I did.

I can safely say that Sly’s reaction to you has NOTHING to do with your interest of basketball OR your resume regarding basketball.

I think you are correct. A keen observation.

Bahahahahahahaha!

Where did I say I fear you?

I sure didn't say I was coming to disrupt the event! I only asked @barfo if he were going.

I gather you took this as the opportunity to make me unwelcome. It seems fear that I will disrupt the event, is on your mind. Considering all factors, it is not a rational thought, but it is where you landed.

After due consideration, I decided to it is the right thing to do, easy your mind, and assure you that I will not come. You succeeded, I got the signal, unwelcome.
