Shutter Island 8.5 / 10... It was kinda a mindfuck.

Fanboys -- 5/10 -- really unfunny, endless shitty cameos, and the worst two performances of Seth Rogan's career. Dunno why this was so hyped. Kristen Bell looked good.

The Hurt Locker -- 9/10 -- fascinating and captivating film. Sticks with you.

Would also give it an 8.5. As I read someone else say about it, I'm sure one can appreciate it even more on the second viewing.

Want to see it again SOOOOO bad.

I think a second viewing would do the film harm.

You kinda addressed your previous statement with this.

And Kristen Bell is beautiful.

Invention of Lying -- 5/10

Just average. Ricky Gervais is hilarious but the plot was missing that spice.

The Faculty - 6/10

Nothing special but putting Salma Hayek (though a small role) and Jordana Brewster on screen is never a bad thing. I also thought Harnett and Wood were okay. This also had Jon Stewart in it which made it a 6 from a 5.

Rescue Dawn -- 9/10 -- a great cast compliments Herzog's incredible and unconventional storytelling.

Casino - 10/10

I'm done trying to find flaws in Scorsese's masterpieces. Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, and Casino are all 10/10's for me.

Casino and Taxi Driver are the only 10s from that list. Goodfellas is probably a 9 and 8 for raging bull. Imo.

Taxi Driver was probably his best movie though.

And that is why your opinion is like an asshole. Everyone has one.

Watched the "Public Enemies" today - ofc I like Depp and Bale, and Heat was an excellent movie, but I didn't like that Public Enemies at all, stopped it from the middle of the film... :S

Religulous is pretty good, about on par with Real Time.

Halo: Legends -- 3/10 -- combines two things I like (animation and Halo) into a steaming pile. Most of it is unwatchable.

Alice in Wonderland -- 3/10

It was fucking awful. The cat and Johnny Depp was the only thing worth noting.

Night of the Living Dead 3D -- 2/10 -- Romero's 1990 remake of Night was pointless and superficial. This remake (which did not involve Romero) is even more inane. It looks like shit, has bad everything (editing, lighting, acting, sound effects, special effects, music--everything), and the people are more brainless than the zombies.

(500) Days Of Summer - 8/10

Movie was actually really funny, and had a couple of the funnier lines I've seen in a movie in a while.

8/10

Hawke and Cheadle were fantastic. Gere was the weakest link, by far.

Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day - 7/10

Definitely not as good as the 1st one, but the ending made up for it all.

Shutter Island -- 7/10

Thought it was quite a good thriller, to be honest. Check it out, good watch.

I watched The Blind Side in an effort to understand why Sandra Bullock won the Oscar. I'm not sure why she did or why the film was nominated for best picture (wasn't it?). Pretty standard sports movie about a kid from the wrong side of the tracks. I think Bullock won a lifetime achievement award not an Oscar for this performance.

No it wasn't nominated, but she did win the Oscar, though in no way did she deserve it.

The Departed
9/10

I knew Scorsese won best director for the film, but I held off watching this for a long time because I had a nagging feeling I was going to end up disappointed, not so; it was fucking great.

If you liked that you should check out Infernal Affairs. Scorsese directly stole scenes from that movie. Why he chose to do that I don't know.

The Departed is a remake of Infernal Affairs.
