It was pretty solid, but the reason it got a B was because of that guy's voice.
Just absolutely horrid. Next up...

I liked that. The music video was cool. It was really creative. I really liked the sound as well. Usually that type of song is not really my style but I liked this one.

Vertical Horizon - You're A God

B- Song is smooth with just enough rock. Lyrics arent bad either although this style music was over produced when this song was released which back then made me look down upon it, but I def dig it now. Extra points on tiffany amber as well.

Chiodos - "The words 'best friend' redefined"
doubt you guys will like this style of music, but this band is one of my favorites.

You were right, I'm not a fan of emo screamo music. It was alright until the guy started wailing and then screaming.

Probably my favourite Strokes song, it's simple but it has a nice build up to the chorus.

I saw them live and they put on probably the best show of any band I had seen up to that point. I especially love this song... listening to it really brings me back. When it first came out about three or four years ago, I played this song non-stop. I think this song stood out in particular to me because it reminded me of The Doors. Casablancas' vocals on the song sound a lot like Morrison's late-career vocal performances, imo.

That song was relaxing. The music was good, I wasn't to found of the vocalist though...he sounded bored.

I honestly just picked a random song.

tbh, they have the whole early Finger Eleven stuff/early Nickelback stuff/Theory Of A Dead Man/3 Doors Down/Creed, and the whole MTV rock scene thing going on. I think they could do a lot better then what they just did in that song, and I think they're talented. But I just can't get past the whole MTV "Rock" thing.

Anyway, here is mine:

Fulton Lights - Fire in the Palm of My Hand

umm....the video might be slightly creepy...so yeah...

A

It was a pretty easy going song to listen to, I guess I was in the right mood to listen to it since I'm tired as hell right now and it seems like a nice song to just sit back and relax to.

I didn't find the video creepy at all. Just kind of random.

Next song is a band I've been listening to a little bit recently, and this is from the Spawn soundtrack which explains the music video. The song picks up at the halfway mark.

Filter - Can't You Trip Like I Do

Isn't that the band with the song Take My Picture, or w/e? I liked the lyrics and the theme of the song, but there wasn't much there musically; not really any melody.

This next song is sorta a southern anthem. Hell, anything Skynard is for that matter.

New Song:

Lynard Skynard - Gimme Back My Bullets

Filter - Can't You Trip Like I Do

I actually loved that track when I first heard it in 1997. I have that Spawn album and there are a few good remixed tracks on there like one from Stabbing Westward and another by Mansun.

Lynard Skynard - Gimme Back My Bullets A

Really good song, bonus points for having the video about Chris Anderson.

I know there has been a lot of Chili videos in this thread but there hasn't been one in a while. Before you guys complain about it being another Chili's song, it is a little different from the other ones since this song is from One Hot Minute (an album that not many Chili fans like, but has grown on me recently with tracks like Aeroplane, Warped, My Friends, Tearjerker and Coffee Shop).

I know the video is just a bunch of cars, but 'Tube doesn't have any other videos with this song.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Shallow Be Thy Game

A+

Pretty much all Chilis songs without Slovak or Frusciante on them lack the soul the Chilis otherwise have, but I still really like this song. It's probably my second or third favorite song on the album (the title track is amazing, imo).

One Hot Minute as a whole seems a lot more poppy to me than most Chilis stuff. I know that most people always say it was their darkest album, but that's just because of the strange sounds they used in it, Anthony's lyrics, the cover art, and the strange music videos. I actually think parts of By The Way are a lot "darker," even though it had more commercial success and generally uplifting videos, etc.

You've got to love the lyrics on this track too as an attack on organized religion.

New Song:

ELO - Strange Magic

This video's pretty dumb (user-made), and ELO turned to **** in the late 70's, but this song has always been one of my favorites. It reminds me of blairing this song smoking the first J of the day before or after school in my car at the park with friends. It fit so well with this song, weed being the 'strange magic,' haha.

They're not Steely Dan but that song is a good throwback tune.

with the amount of RHCP fans on this site, sometimes I swear RHCP's record label is behind some of these posts....
check this out - this is the influence behind a lot of bands they have today such as Franz Ferdinand, interpol, bravery, arctic monkeys, etc......
Gang of Four. pretty cool and funny at the same time.

I absolutely love that song and the band. Gang of Four was something else. The lyrics, while simple are really cool. The intro is what makes the song for me though. Nice pick.

Arcade Fire - My Body Is A Cage

This song is amazing by itself, but put together with this Sergio Leone footage makes it straight up beautiful. One of my favorite westerns no doubt.

Arcade Fire - My Body Is A Cage - A

I'm not a big fan of this band, but they have a few good songs that I like. This one is pretty damn good though and I love the way this guy edited the video for it. Makes it feel like an official music video. The song's intro was really nice and I like the way it finished as well. The pick up at 2:10 is excellent and again the film involved makes it even better.

As for the film, if I recall correctly didn't that nutcase Italian horror film buff Dario Argento write for it? I remember his crazy violent (yet so fake looking) film Suspiria.

New song is from ?t? 67 - Si vous voulez de moi

No video for this one, sorry. Just go to the MySpace page above and click on the song at the top. If you don't care for music with a foreign language you may want to skip this one and let someone else that will appreciate it take a listen. Sasha, if I recall correctly you were really getting into this band when I first posted some of their stuff a while back? Anyway they released a special edition album with a DVD that I'm ordering later tonight. These guys have absolutely stunning music.

Here you can listen to the new tracks on the bonus CD

Here is the only place I can find to order the album/DVD and for only €15.50

Very nice song, but the only thing is there wasn't a kick to it, a climax or anything. I'm still impressed with all their other stuff. Would you mind in uploading their new album for me please?

Keeping up with the foreign spirit, here's someone I came across on Limewire while searching for a Feist song...

PM sent your way.

Eric Lapointe - Deux fois la meme histoire - C

Oh man, the lyrics are really cheesy love story-esque style jumbo. Reminds me of James Blunt's lyrics. I read up on the guy while I was listening to the track and it reads that his [Lapointe] songs have good guitar work, but this one didn't stand out at all for me. Much of it being repetitive. However, it isn't bad or anything.

Also, I agree that song from ?t? 67 is definitely not their best.

Next song is from Coldplay - Don't Panic

From one of the best albums of all-time IMO. Absolutely mind boggling what the hell happened to them after A Rush Of Blood To The Head.

It definitely was better, by ten fold. However, AROBTTH wasn't bad as it had a few good songs and after that album I don't understand what in the World they were thinking.

My friends have mixed feelings about these guys, but I really dig them. Does anyone else see Jim Morrison in the lead singer? I know I do.

Anyway, I've never heard this song before, but it's pretty catchy. This band's not the most talented musically nor the deepest lyrically, but as far as pop-rock tunes go, these guys put out some great songs.

New Song:

This new song's from the band Satellite Party who's debut album just hit stores a few days ago. I haven't picked it up, but I've really been meaning to because of all the great artists who contributed on it. Here's the only song I've heard from it so far, featuring never before released vocals from Jim Morrison. It wasn't much to work with, but I think they did an okay job of incorporating this into a song. It's still just exciting to hear Jim's voice on something new.

I think I enjoyed it a lot more because of the weather, season, and everything. Just seemed to fit in with how I've been feeling lately. And you're right, its always nice to hear to something new from Morrison. Nice recommendation.

I've been playing this song a lot lately. My favourite from Black Sabbath:

Black Sabbath - "War Pigs"

Invalid Video Link

A+

Oh hell yeah Chutney! I haven't heard this song in forever, but it really brings me back. I was a huge Sabbath fan in high school. So many crazy nights experimenting with psychedelics and playing bands like Sabbath, Hendrix, the Beatles, the Doors, etc. Why can't bands today take a page from the bands in the 60's? There's not one act out there that I can say sounds like the groups that were coming out in the late 60's, early 70's. That's not to say there's not good music around. The Chili Peppers are my favorite band of all-time, but they're sound is still different from everything in that great rock era.

I love Ozzy's vocals on this track moreso than any other Sabbath song I think, probably because of the way the band stops playing at the beginning of every one of his most powerful verses. The guitar work is great too - very haunting classic rock riff with a lot of intricate fingering by Tony Iommi in between. He's not the best guitar player that Ozzy's ever been associated with, but he's underrated and deserves a lot more credit than most of the music 'experts' give him today.

Very fitting video too.

New Song:

Fitting in with the theme of Jim Morrison, classic rock, war protest, etc., my next recommendation is a song from the Doors called "The Unknown Soldier." The greatest part to me is the guitar at the end of the song. Every time I hear that I just want to get up and dance like Jim. It's a typical Doorsesque riff, the kind Krieger used to play at live jam sessions.

I wasn't feeling the song too much, but that guitar riff at the end that you mentioned really was awesome. I'm not the biggest Doors fan, but I enjoyed this song. The lyrics are good as always and it ended with a bang. Great video as well.

I love posting songs from around this era of rock. I've only recently started to get into it, but there's so many quality artists. I'll continue with my favourite song by my favourite band. Long as hell, but I still enjoy it a lot:

Los Campesinos! - You! Me! Dancing! - B

I've heard a lot about this band from word of mouth, but this is the first time I've ever heard their music. I was impressed with the opening sequences and the video itself is lovely. The music is good, but the song is way too long for that style of music and the singer and lyrics got on my nerves after a few minutes into the addition of vocals. I'll have to look into it more.

New song is from Morcheeba - Rome Wasn't Built in a Day

Invalid Video Link

Not my favorite and not a new song, but I really enjoy it. The lyrics are fun, but become repetitive after a few minutes. However, I absolutely love how the song goes to the video. This isn't an official video naturally, but I picked it because it showcases my favorite rugby union team Biarritz Olympique doing what they do best in Europe.

Hopefully you'll enjoy seeing that as well. Aupa BO!!

BTW, the song that changes at the end is actually a Basque song. Also the celebrations at the end of the match are a regional tradition in all aspects (sports, weddings, etc).
