He got kicked in the head why? Because outside of the blue paint he stuck out his stick and tripped somebody on the ice. How that negates a goal is beyond me.
what you just said does not make any sense. The goalie TRIPPED Lindberg outside of the crease. The league has consistently disallowed goals for goalie interference when a defenseman bumps a forward into the goalie, so this call is consistent with the league not allowing goals when contact with the goalie is made, regardless of who initiated that contact.
Imagine Henrik got kicked in the head and the goal counted? OMG HENRIK ALMOST GOT DECAPITATED AND THE GOAL COUNTED! CONSPIRACY AGAINST NY!
Why is it so hard to understand? when a goalie is in the crease and there is contact with an opposing forward the goal is almost always disallowed, regardless of how the goalie came into contact with the other player. The contact with Lindberg's foot was inside the crease, which is all that matters. Again, MANY times we have seen a defenseman purposely push a forward into the goalie creating contact in the crease resulting in a disallowed goal. BS? yes, of course, but consistent with the NHL not wanting ANY goalie contact inside the crease.
no, the call was consistent with every call the NHL has made for years where the goalie gets bumped in the crease for any reason and the goal is disallowed. It is not very hard to understand.
Continuing to repeat what didn't happen doesn't make you correct. Lindberg was never in the crease.
