If there is play-in tournament, 12th seeded Knicks are in!

Edit: Washington is only team in from East.

Btw it’s kinda fucked that Orlando/Brooklyn will have to play Washington for a spot in the playoffs. The Wizards are currently 5.5 games out. Same with the suns having an opportunity to get in. But whatever just play ball. I like Portland’s chances to get in.

Does anyone have concerns that Portland seems to have had slow starts to seasons lately and this will be like starting a new season?

I have concerns that we've forgotten that the Blazers just aren't very good this year.

Given that two good starters who have missed all, in the case of Nurk, and all but 3 games in the case of Collins, are now available to play, I’d say that your statement is likely no longer true.
You seem to be assuming that (a) they're just as good as they were and (b) they can seemlessly integrate with the current team. Big assumptions.

I’m assuming that the talent is still there, that they will be rusty but so will everyone else, and that they have two months to prepare. I feel fairly safe in assuming that Collins is better than Gabriel and that Nurk is better than Swanigan.

Everybody playing will return rusty....evens the playing field...we will actually have fresher legs with Melo, Zach and Nurk having long breaks anyway....I'm more worried about how much wine they've been guzzling than rust....the whole planet has been couch locked pretty much...there will probably be some strained hamstrings early in the playoffs

Nba should delay their decision by a week or so and seriously reconsider this whole Orlando idea. Let teams finish the season in their own markets and maybe have them only play teams in their own conference. And let fans in for the playoffs.

dominoes are falling fast.

1. That's in a country that has flattened the curve
2. It's talking about Soccer stadia, which are open, and therefore less dangerous

It's not going to happen. We're not going to get fans at NBA games in 2020.

Your predictions are always wrong, so why do you keep talking like you know what you’re saying?

btw the curve has been flattened a long time ago in America as well.

Scalma- the NBA Board of Governors are voting on Silver’s Orlando plan on Thursday and it is well known that they are expected to vote yes. There won’t be a last minute let’s go back to normal plan to finish out 2019-20. Likely not 20-21 either but we’ll see. Just be thankful we’re getting basketball back at all and that it’s 90% certain Blazers will be involved.

Okay, how about this: I bet you anything you like there will be no games with fans before 2021.

Lol.

Eight games is not a lot, but if Portland plays Memphis twice as the original schedule planned, they’ll have an opportunity to be in the drivers seat. But every game is essentially a playoff game, so it’ll be exciting, and I like Portland’s experience.

I think they have to reschedule everything so a team like NO might end up playing memphis twice anyways.

The thing i find interesting is that POR has played a game more than memphis, and two more than NO.

need some more detail on this play in thing

What if multiple teams are tied for the 9th seed? The double elimination will still be tricky if not every team plays the same opponents

Also... what 8 games will we play in the regular season?

Think i would have preferred the 20 team WC style group thing instead.

I can take one guess who’s behind this bullshit.
