Ric Bucher Says Portland Is The Best Destination For LeBron This Summer

This is more motivation to finish 3rd, just maybe when he sees there’s no room on GS or Hou he looks down to the next team and sees us.

I like the positive vibes but wouldn’t GS have to lose like 1/2 their remaining games?

I don't think we should give up Aminu either. He's important part of our team. Just get LeBron and stick him in the Evan Turner role. We wouldn't even have to change our playbook. LeBron is definitely an upgrade over Turner so I'm fine with losing the picks. LeBron can do whatever he wants to do. If he wants to play in Portland with Dame/CJ/Aminu/Nurk, he will make it happen.
We'd have to. We could easily sign someone like Booker or Ilyasova to replace him. The salaries don't work unless we send out Aminu.

You are correct. Why the fuck would they? If you were gm of Portland, would you ever trade a guy like him unless he gave you an ultimatum?
Last time I checked isn't his current relationship and current situation really weird with that organization? if those rumors are true, they could trade him. If they are fine though, yeah no chance

Seems to me the real key is how the playoffs are organized next year. If LeBron were to come to the West and have to maybe face the Spurs or Jazz or Wolves in the first round, battle with the Rockets or Warriors in the second round, and then battle the other team in the WCF, well, fuck that. Pretty tough odds. I'd go to the Sixers and coast the Finals (where I'd lose, but at least I made it there) if I were him.

If, however, they decide to change playoff seeding (like I think they should) to eliminate conferences, then yeah, Portland might be his best shot at another ring. He'd get some knockover Easter team in the earlier rounds and only face a real threat in the finals (if we have the best record, which we very well could).

Especially if we can keep Aminu--that would be a really tough front court to go up against defensively with Aminu, LeBron and Nurk.

We all heard the same stuff , and the Kawhi situation has been strange. But, he just recently talked about feeling better and rejoining the team. I have to believe that until I hear something different.

That's an unbiased national source. Said he doesn't expect it to happen but...

It is possible. Through sign and trade or LeBron doing a CP3 type of opt-in-and-trade. (I don't think HOU has the assets to even get CLE to agree to one, and I don't think they can shed enough salary.)

I think we should try. Fuck it, why not.

Do you guys think we could even get a meeting with him? We have a lot to offer IMO.

Ric Bucher? Is he even relevant anymore as he seems to have been out of the loop for awhile now. I guess the way to try and get back in the loop is to create some wild ass story that will never happen.

It's not a story. He shared his opinion that Portland was the best destination for LeBron.

That gnarly beard he's been growing would be a perfect fit in Portland.

There is no way Lebron comes to this bloodbath in the west. Getting to the finals every year is part of his legacy. Coming west would put that in danger

Clippers are my dark horse for Lebron.

Don’t think he goes to the lakers.

Philly makes some sense.

Most likely scenario is he lets everyone feed his ego and then returns to Cleveland.

Not likely. Houston doesn’t have cap space or anything the Cavs would want to take back in a sign and trade.

I used to care about the details and now just think there are too many things that can happen where guys end up where they want. Multiple teams involved, manipulating the numbers etc.

How'd that work out for Melo? He REALLY wanted to go to HOU, but had to settle for cow town.
