Ric Bucher Says Portland Is The Best Destination For LeBron This Summer

it didn't because Houston didn't want him bad enough. Carmelo aint Lebron.

Didn’t want him bad enough? You mean no one wanted Ryan Anderson? If Houston wants Lebron they’re gonna have to move Ryan, and that ain’t happening. I shouldn’t have even mentioned Houston.

LeBron isn't going anywhere where there are other ball dominant guards. Portland has two of them so that makes it even more remote. A place like LA makes more sense because there are a ton of 3-pt shooters and Ball is a very willing passer that has been improving his shot and isn't a small guard. The idea is fun to think about but Portland doesn't have the money or the type of team that would seem to fit.

Id heard it on the radio this that Santa Claus would move to LA before James.
I agree. No way he wants to play for a team that could screw up his legacy. If he didn't win there he'd be a bust in that city compared to the statues at Staples.

There is no way Lebron comes to this bloodbath in the west. Getting to the finals every year is part of his legacy. Coming west would put that in danger
Losing in the finals every year is starting to become his legacy too. GOATS don’t lose more ships than they win.

LeBron has had his best success with ball dominant guards.

Kyrie
Wade

Hell.... even Mo Williams. But they have to be extremely talented and capable of sharing the ball, which Damian is. That's why Isaiah Thomas was never going to work. He's ball dominant AND he thinks he's Allen Iverson. In terms of overall talent, we offer one of the best situations for him. I don't see any way Houston could afford him, and they have nothing to trade.

Yes, coming West would make things harder for him, but with the right talent around him, I think he could win. If you put LeBron on our team, I think we would have a legit shot at winning the title. Would we actually win? I don't know. Would he want to come here? I don't know. If we're living in this dream scenario where LeBron wants to come to Portland, this is what I would try to do:

To make the money work, AND keep CJ, we would have to convince them to take Harkless/Collins/Turner and a pick. If you can convince Cleveland that Collins is good value, that's more than the Clippers really got for CP3. Obviously Turner is a hard sell, but he only has 2 years left. It's not THAT bad.

Next, I would try to use LeBron as a marketing tool to get one more key piece. This free agent class is amazing, with names like Durant, George, CP3, Jordan, etc.

I would try to convince George to come here, and if it requires a sign-and-trade, I'm willing to deal CJ for George. If we had Dame/George/LeBron/Nurk, we could plug just about anyone into the SG spot. It wouldn't really matter. Someone who wants a ring. Maybe try to sell JJ Redick or Avery Bradley on a short deal.

I dunno, can they not get creative and get other teams involved?

I don’t see any way they can get around it, they would have to get someone to take Anderson. No ones going to do it, even if Houston attached a first.

If he leaves Cleveland, he goes to Philadelphia IMO. No better situation for him to go to. They got the cap space, they got the talent and their fans are passionate about the current team.

Better off packaging our first and a future first to try and grab Mikal B.
Looks like Kawhi 2.0 to me, or KK outta UK, underachieving guys outta UK always pay off.

Him and Simmons don't fit, and were better.

If reality was a prime consideration in posts around here, Denny wouldn’t make money off this site.
I made it talking about what a national writer said. That seems real to me.

Now you're getting it.
