Rip City Remix, 2025-6 season

Whenever I check in with the Remix, the player who always stands out to me is Romeo Weems. He can hit threes but his main strength is as a chaos agent on D. Kind of like a taller Blake Wesley in his over-caffeinatedness.

Dillon Jones messed around and got a triple double
Also: Hinson scored 39 and Cooke got 7 assists and 13 boards. G-LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER!

(I noticed that the Thunder's 2024 picks were:
#26 Dillon Jones
#38 Ajay Mitchell (Jaylen Wells was drafted the next pick! Guess who had the #34 pick and just traded it to the Knicks? Can we just plant somebody in the Grizzlies organization to tell us who they're going to draft so we can pick them first?)

Jones with back-to-back triple doubles. HCP's new favorite player!

Remix won in San Diego, Clippers won in Portland. Difference? Yang played for the Remix this game.

That's a fun team to watch, running the open-post offense with all the cutting and movement away from the ball.

Hinson's a crazy shooter when he's on. It'd be interesting to see how a player like him might fit on the Blazers' big club.

Hinson seems to prefer ultra long range. Impressive. I have to go to a Remix game. They really look fun on offense.

I read up on Hinson - he bounced around between three different colleges but missed a whole season at Iowa State for an "unspecified medical condition". That probably hurt his draft stock. (But then he went to Pitt and was first-team all-ACC.) In March he hit 10 three pointers... against the Remix. The knock on him is that he doesn't really do anything BUT shoot. Combine him with Jones and you'd have the ideal small forward.

Hinson's just an incredible shooter. One of the best in the world regardless of level. The guy could fall out of bed and swish a 3 before hitting the floor.

You watch his highlights. He shoots 3s in every possible fashion. Straight catch. Circling off the off-ball screen. Flaring off the off-ball screen. Those are all different shots and he manages to repeat his footwork and upper-body form consistently. That takes either an incredible amount of work or an incredible amount of inate skill. It's uncanny. And he's 6-8, 240. He's basically the size of JJ Hickson.

If he could develop any other part of his game to be at least close to average ... but that's the thing. That he shoots so well and still can't find a spot in an NBA rotation is an indictment of the rest of his game, and it's a shame because people really deserve to see a shooter this talented.

Watching them now against SLC. They’re more entertaining than the Blazers have been lately.

There’s no other sports on TV that I care about so I’m watching it too. Good to see Rupert kicking ass.

They were showing them on YouTube and Roku but since Yang's been playing they've switched to ESPN+ so I can't watch. Was Rupert the best player on the floor? What about Walter Clayton Jr? Blake Hinson? Harkless?

Say more.

They played an entertaining game with some sweet shooting down the stretch from Pedulla and Hinson along with Rupert and Cooke taking it to the rack. Reese had a couple of sick blocks, one of which was when SLC was trying to cap off a run with a dunk and Reese came out of nowhere.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Basketball fans -- you’re in luck this season, because every Rip City Remix home game will be aired on TV.

The NBA G League affiliate of the Portland Trail Blazers and KATU-TV announced a new partnership on Thursday to air all 23 home games on KUNP (2.2 via over-the-air antenna),

HOLY SHIT - this scoreline!

Elijah Harkless - 34 points in 25 mins
John Tonje (rookie) - 29 points in 30 mins
The Jazz had 4 players score over 20... and none of them were Taylor Hendricks or Cody Williams (who combined for 21).
Oscar Tshiebwe, always a rebounding machine, had 22 boards in 30 mins!

For the good guys:
Dillon Jones had FIVE POINTS and shot THREE TIMES in 30 minutes. WTF? Is this some kind of protest? (He was -29)
Blake Hinson only went 3-5 from three, but had 28.
Meanwhile out of nowhere Sean "scrappy little white guy" Pedulla had 38 points in 28 minutes! Was Jones just feeding him the ball?
More likely Cameron Parker, who had 3 points and SEVENTEEN assists (in 25 minutes!)

Have all Portland teams just turned into the Paul Westhead Nuggets???

that is horrible basketball. some remixer had 17 assists but 7 turnovers.
