RIP MGB

Am I alone in thinking it would be kinda cool to have a sportstwo contingent at his memorial? I don't know about you guys, but I feel like this online community is just as legit as coworkers, church members, etc.

If I lived in Portland, I would definitely go to the funeral!

Very sad news.

It would be great if we could get the Blazers to mention him at the game tonight.

I didn't know him at all, and it makes me sad that I didn't with all the kind words being said. It would be great if MB and MR could mention it tonight during the game, and the Blazers could pull out a win for him tonight... and for the rest of the season for that matter. God Bless him and his family. :(

Man.. this makes my heart sink. A true blazer through and through. Thank you for letting us know. RIP MGB.

WHAT?! I thought he was here like yesterday. Condolences to Mrs. mgb

That's really awful news, seemed like a great guy. RIP MGB.

I have met Michael and Karla a number of times. Truly terrific and big hearted people. Always a pleasure. My heart goes out to Karla. She's had a trying time. Michael was a great Blazers fan. None better. Michael, you will be missed.

It's an away game, but ya. And in the most respectful way possible, RIP CITY MGB.

Oh that's right, I wasn't paying attention. Maybe that would give a little more time to get the Blazers a few pictures for the next home game.

I am so sorry to hear this..my heart goes out to his family and all of his friends throughout the years. Rest in peace.

Wow, this is devastating news. I bought his tickets from him several times when he couldn't attend the games. A great guy, a true fan and a beloved contributor to this forum. He will sincerely be missed. Condolences to his family. They, and we, lost a good one.

Horrible news. Rest in Peace, friend. Condolences to all affected by this! I never met him, but from his posts I could tell he was a kind hearted fellow with a lot to offer!

I sent a tweet to Mike Barrett about it, and asked if he could do a tribute.

Many condolences to his family. He was a great Blazer fan.

MGB had been with this community for as long as I can remember, and I know he's been battling health problems for a while, but it's still truly sad to see him go. Our little family lost one of the great ones.

I'm out and about. When I get home, we'll figure out how to permanently mark his memory in the site.

I knew him since the 1990s. This is terrible news.

Is there any way we could get some kind of group card, or flowers, or SOMETHING for his funeral? Maybe we could do a get together to toast his memory. Meet up for a drink and a toast to MGB.

My heart goes out to all his family and friends. I know that he is in a better place, and that we should all be happy for him. It is the rest of us who will miss him, and feel the absence of his personable attitude. May God hold you Mike, thank you for sharing your self with us.

Very upsetting and sad news to hear. RIP MGB you will be missed.
