At least Martell will attack the rim. Rudy only goes to the hole when Sergio throws him a lob. When we first drafted Rudy, I thought he was a slasher. I thought he would go to the hole. All I've really seen this season is Rudy shooting three's. That's it.

The problem with Rudy is he has no in between game right now. he has to work on that this summer. Players are flying at him at the 3, and he has to be able to pull up and hit those wide open 15-17' jumpers

Batum needs to play Rudy's minutes from now on. He always gets out on the break ahead of everyone, and he plays defense.

Also, 3 PF on Przy and 2 on Oden has killed us. Rockets just driving to the hoop.

Roy needs to step up. If he's the leader, he needs to play like it and start taking it to the hole. The team is following his lead, and he's showing them it's cool to take perimeter shots all game long. Roy scores at will in the paint, I can't comprehend why he isn't doing it now, or at least attempting it.

They're the more aggressive team, but the refs aren't letting us be aggressive. But ya, this doesn't help our image of being soft.

So they're still not really capable of playing good, hard defense on the road against good teams. Bummer, but they can still get HCA and win a playoff round that way.

Hmmm ... I'm not wild about that idea, but only because I don't think Martell is exactly a world beater either, but I'm guessing Rudy's stock is a lot higher around the league than Martell's -- it's definitely something I'd consider if the returing player was a high caliber point guard.

Przy and Oden play 13 combined minutes that half. That's the backbone of the Blazers defense. That and Batum of course only played 9 min.

Oden's foul trouble this game was his fault. He just pushed that guy on the way to the basket. Stupid, stupid, stupid. We need him to step up, stay in the game, and rebound like a mad man.

Just tired of Rudy being nothing more than a streaky 3 pt shooter. Martell does that and is more physical on defense and rudy would net us more. But KP won't trade Rudy because the fans heart rudy :sigh:

If you read any of my posts this year you would know I wanted to use Rudy to get that player we were seeking after, not JB not Batum..but RUDY! I have been down on Rudy since mid-December. This game has just opened up that train of mind.

Rudy and Webster are almost identical players. Both are streaky from three. Statistically Websters' numbers last year almost identically match Rudy's numbers this year.

He's a rookie :dunno:

Expecting some kind of all around, high level game from him when he just doesn't have the resume' (nor the body) is probably a bit much in somebody's first season.

The first foul was really stupid on Gregs part. he did that last game too. the second foul was bullshit! Yao swung his arm out created space and greg never did foul him.

I personally never thought Martell was that good of a defender. He's about the same as Outlaw from what I remember.

Rudy brings intangibles. He's always there with an important deflection, tip and gets to critical rebounds and loose balls. He's a competitor. He wants to win first and foremost. I like him.
