Yao really is fucking good. he is so fundamentaly sound. He does not rely on his size. No doubt why they call him the wall. He really boxes out, and sets great picks.
But why is he good in the NBA, but terrible in the Olympics? I don't understand it.
We got man handled tonight.

Olympics are weird. A guy like Carlos Arroyo somehow plays better than Kobe but cant find a decent role on any NBA team.
Hopefully Roy's knee gets better because he's not the same player. Aldridge has been carrying the team the past week or so it seems.
edit - Roy hurt his knee against Utah correct?
But why is he good in the NBA, but terrible in the Olympics? I don't understand it.
i don't hink it was Roy's knees tonight as much as it was Artest with the help of 7'5" wall.
Paging Greg Oden: Channing Frye got a rebound tonight - and you didn't.![]()
I think Houston is a bunch of over achievers minus Yao Ming. They are nothing special individually, but they do play some tough basketball. Kinda like a Jerry Sloan coached team.
We don't match up against Houston. Period.
Our scoring comes mainly from the perimeter. Houston has the best collection of perimeter defenders/help defenders in the league, probably.
I think we'll beat San Antonio.
Yao wasn't close to 100% during the Olympics. Remember he had a season ending surgery last year? Yao was one of the most dominant players in the preceding Olympics.
Speaking of Frye, can anyone tell me why this guy played in the very important 2nd quarter for 8+ minutes while Oden was on the bench with 2 fouls? Like someone else said, Nate is being way too conservative about the fouling situations on our centers. I swear, how many times has he allowed Oden or Pryz to foul out this year? Maybe 2-3 times? My goodness. It boggles my mind. For pete's sake, put Aldridge as center, and TO as PF. Channing Frye does not deserve a single minute in these big games unless absolutely necessary.
You don't know that. There was a game where Oden picked up a quick 4th or 5th foul but lasted nearly the entire 4th quarter without getting another one. A paranoid Oden is better for the team than a fearless Frye any day of the week.
Anyone see MB and Rice show some Rip City Uprise T-shirt in red or in black? I assume it's a playoff shirt, anyone know where to get them or when they'll be available? Didn't find them on the Blazers Web site.
