Well supposedly for ESPN we are ORST not OSU or OS....so thats a little disheartning in itself

Like i said before, either oregon teams goes to pasadena and wins by at least a TD

if it's ya'll, I want to see some signs claiming the initials as yours... "THE" 21st Century OSU w/the Beav logo... stuff like that

I've been to Ohio a couple times and was always happy to leave

side rant... unless my Ducks are in the mix for the year end top honor in the polls, their ranking pales in importance to just playing in the Rose Bowl. But could someone please explain how Ohio State is ranked above the Ducks? Both teams have two loses, but Ohio State's are to teams Oregon beat and one of those loses (Purdue) was at home. Oregon has the much stronger Strength of Schedule... Sagarin has the team's SoS's ranked #3 and #54 respectively.

Is it subjective? I just :dunno:

Anyone else notice something neat about the SOS regarding the Pac-10?

Oregon 3
OSU 24
ASU 20
Arizona 7
WSU 2
UW 1
USC 6
UCLA 10
CAL 14
STANFORD 13

I would think OSU's 24 is severely effected by PSU on their schedule, but think about those for a second. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, and 10th best SOS's all were in the Pac-10. And 10 of the top 24 SOS's were all in the same conference. Somehow I really doubt any other conference can even come close to saying that.

I think the Pac-10's biggest problem is it doesn't have ENOUGH cupcakes (and they don't schedule teams like Florida International, or Chattanooga, or NC State, or Duke).

DOESNT MATTER SEC IS BEST! A bad and sloppy game is defined as such every where but the SEC where it is masked with pretty phrases like "WHAT A DEFENSIVE SLOBBERKNOCKER WE HAVE GOING ON HERE".

Pac-10 will never get respect because of the East Coast Bias. Last year we went 5-0 in bowl games I believe, and hardly a mention was said about it. USC has routinely stomped out of conference teams everywhere they go outside of the Texas game, and pac-10 teams have far more competitive games against the Trojans but we're still called the Pac-1.

how is this a problem? Overall the Pac 10 has won more championships then any other conference. They consistently have as many NFL players as the SEC and anyone else. They've been fairing pretty well in inter-conference & bowl games (particularly the Rose Bowl), but still an East Coast bias exists. I think thats understandable as people are biased towards their own interests and a lot more people are found east of Pac 10 country and holding zero Pac 10 rooting interests then not. Conversely, lots of people living in Pac 10 country hold rooting interests to the East as thats the way the country has filled up. This dynamic isn't going to change real soon.

Besides I like to see competitive games rather then mismatches... good to see the new BCS rankings make more sense :)

I meant that in a sarcastic sort of way. The Pac 10 has 6 teams who are above .500 in conference, and 7 that are bowl eligible.

It's just too good for ECB to realize they're better than they give them credit for.

Duck fans. Which section at Autzen is usually the designated away fan section?

Usually like 38 IIRC but possibly 39

It's definitely section 39. I've already got my tickets. Row 47, seats 9 and 10.

I wonder if they'll have more than one.. When I was at the Purdue game we were right next to their section.. I would assume if Purdue gets 2 sections.. that the Beavers would too.

Just looked at my tickets and I'm actually in row 43. We might have 2 sections. That would be nice.

nice! 4 rows closer... Have you been to Autzen before? I have never found bad seat in the house.

Nope. Never been to Autzen. I'm a season ticket holder at Reser though.

Cool.. should be fun for you. And pretty good seats. I hope that you arent next to any Jackass Duck fans who take it too far. It should be a good experience for you guys though.

I'm looking forward to it. I'm not worried about bad Duck fans since I'll be in an OSU section. I doubt they would mess with me too much anyway. Here's to a good game!

lol thats true.. you will have a lot of guys who have your back. But yes here is to a hopefully great game. (but not as close as the game I watched in Tuscon.. that was too much)

Sweet, I bought tickets in section 40 row 2 last week following the U Dub game. Ones in row 5 of that section are already $100 more than what I paid.

Not sure where the tickets are... I'm just getting the generic portion they save for students who want to go. Unfortunately that means I gotta camp out for em.

Maybe I'm not seeing the right button to click once inside your link but there didn't seem to be a good query to answer this. Anyhoo, I've read it being true (Pac 10 having most NFL players) on several occasions. Maybe this isn't true today, but heres the the first google hit on the entry~ most NFL players by conference 2009.

click on "By Conference"
on the left, click "deselect all"
select only the Pac 10 and the SEC (otherwise it gets a bit crowded)

Though the gap is narrowing the last two years, over the last 10 the SEC has provided more players to the NFL.

I think your link is tracking the players drafted from each conference per year. Not every drafted player makes a roster while some who aren't drafted (example: Nick Reed) do.

Regardless, my point is that the Pac 10 puts out about as many NFL players as any other conference... I think that stands.

sweet! I'm all for Ducks being great in the Pros.. but if I have the choice of them being studs in college and busts in the NFL.. I'd chose studs in college everytime.
