I told the dude that i'd rep him if he said anything positive. He couldn't do it.
He cannot break the gimmick - it would be too out of character.

More like "no easy points on my watch". I think Rudy got the message, no?![]()
If so, the message came a little late. Of our 83 points at the time of the foul, about 79 were easy.
BAN Mixum..clap clap clap..BAN Mixum..clap clap clap
Ed, he swung, hit him in the head and then grabbed his wrist. We're going to have to agree to disagree on Ariza's intent.
Exactly. He just wanted to get the spaniard down hard. Turns out little rudy is a bit of a wuss.....err I mean has brittle bones.
Even if you assume that is all true, Ariza's action in the moment was very reckless.No. Sometimes people are done such serious injury that they feel their only recourse is to kill another human being. Their daughter was raped. Their doctor purposefully botched a surgery. Their favorite Spaniard was fouled unnecessarily roughly by a Laker.
These things explain and make understandable motive without excusing the act.
I just don't think that Ariza was ONLY trying to hurt Rudy. He could have just gone after the legs... run through Fernandez. It would have been less effort for Ariza and it would have almost certainly hurt Rudy a lot more.
Why did he even bother to jump, if he wasn't going for the ball?
Clearly it was not a legal play, and obviously he was trying to fould Rudy HARD. I would bet almost anything that he didn't intend to send him to the hospital and I would bet, too, that he had the ball in his sights when he swung through Rudy's head and caught his wrist.
Ed O.
Instead of showing concern for Fernandez or any sort of remorse, Ariza roared louder in the faces of angry Trail Blazers LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy. Ariza later said about the confrontational reaction of Portland’s players: “If it was one of my teammates, I probably would’ve done the same thing. No hard feelings. They were just protecting their teammate.”
But Ariza certainly didn’t have the poise to understand that at the time. Farmar had to restrain Ariza with a strong hug from behind for minutes afterward as Ariza tried to escalate the matter. Ariza even ripped his right arm free from Portland’s Channing Frye at one point to get back into the fray.
Roy indicated that it wasn’t the flagrant foul that upset him as much as Ariza’s attitude afterward, and that is absolutely the crux of it. Ariza can get out of control with his emotions to a heightened level. Asked about the altercations after the foul, Ariza said: “Honestly, I don’t even remember. It was a heat-of-the-moment thing. I don’t remember what happened.”
And just as Ariza’s temper is something that could hurt the Lakers at some point in their run toward a title, Odom’s mindlessness could, too.
Could have been a TON worse!
Had to bump this post.
Just heard on the game that Rudy is downgraded to doubtful for Wednesday's game.
Bruised chest and hip pointer.
Could have been a TON worse!
What Is A Hip Pointer Injury?
A hip pointer injury is extremely painful, acute injury to the iliac crest of the pelvis. The injury causes bleeding into the abdominal muscles, which attach to the iliac crest. The bone and overlying muscle are often bruised, and the pain can be intense. Pain may be felt when walking, laughing, coughing, or even breathing deeply.
What Causes A Hip Pointer Injury?
Hip pointers are the result of a direct blow to the iliac crest, whether from a direct hit from a helmet, or a hard fall. Hip pointers are common in contact sports such as football, and soccer.
What Is The Treatment For A Hip Pointer Injury?
For immediate relief, follow the treatment plan. Rest from aggravating activities for the first 1 to 2 weeks, is the only real way to heal a Hip pointer. Ice and medication can be helpful to reduce pain and inflammation for the first 7 to 10 days after the injury.
It's important that the athlete not return to quickly to activity. If he still has pain or tenderness, he is liable to compensate by altering his gait and technique. The result is another injury to another body part.
From the LA perspective: (guess it always depends on what side you're on)

"You jump off of one leg, and you're exposed" - what a load of horse shit. Ok. Time to ALWAYS jump off TWO legs so you don't "expose" yourself to getting drilled in mid air? Ok. Makes sense.![]()
Exactly.. Stu Lantz putting the onus on Rudy for it, and blaming him for the whole ordeal. What a load of crap.
chick hearn would fuck up EVERYONE's names...shit, even the team names. Like the supersonics he would call the superheros or some crazy shit like that. he would call Shaq as "worthy" or other stuff.
Near the end, his performance dropped off some, though you're exaggerating quite a bit.![]()
feel free to stop quoting toko and mixum in your posts, I have them on ignore for a reason and don't need to read their posts via yours
My roommate in college was a diehard Lakers fan, and even he agreed that Stu Lantz was an insane homer. But that's hometown announcers for you. Vin Sculley is a great LA announcer, though, as was Chick Hearn, when he was still around.
